I am a French teacher and French national. I worked in England for nearly 10 years before moving to Ireland. I have published a textbook there for students preparing the French Leaving Certificate (equivalent to the A Level). I am passionate about French, teaching French, and creating new resources. If I share a resource, it's because it has worked well in my class and I think other teachers might like to use it. I hope you will find them useful! Enjoy!

a PowerPoint to practice the activities using the verb Faire in French + a quick revision of the present tense of regular verbs at the end. (I use Bienvenue en France 1)
This is a 'silly' rule that I have been using forever with my students, teaching them not to pronounce the last silent letters S, P, D, and T in French. It does improve their pronunciation when they realise this, and this silly rule helps them remember. I have done some exercises to go with the poster (The listening exercises don't have audio, so you'll have to use your own voice!). This is part of a longer module I have written mixing pronunciation and grammar exercises. I might share it with you soon!
Feedback much appreciated!
Thank you for the feedback!
I have added the videos as I cannot change the PowerPoint on my Mac. I hope this will sort the problem. If not, please let me know and I'll work at it again! :-)
This worksheet can be done independently in the computer room (or in class with a projector).
Students watch the videos and answer the questions (Videos: a song from Tryo, a speech from l'abbé Pierre, a news item on 'les sans abris', a presentation of 'les restos du coeur')
It also has a reading comprehension and an oral exercise.
I have added a very simple PowerPoint presentation to accompany this worksheet. I have not used it yet with my classes (I used the worksheet alone in a computer room with A Level students). I have embedded the videos to try and make life easier for teachers who would like to use this worksheet in class instead of a computer room. This is a game I often do with younger students after having introduced the question ‘Quest-ce que c’est?’, the vocabulary for classroom objects, and the pair work 'tu as …? Oui j’ai… non je n’ai pas de….. '.
It only lasts 5 minutes but it is always a winner. It follows the rules of the game ‘hot and colder’ and helps practice the question and the pair work. It can easily be adapted.
Useful for A Level as well as for Section 5 of the French Leaving Cert listening exam
A PowerPoint with vocabulary on "Les Faits Divers" leading the students to making their own short news item with the possibility of asking them to film their work at the end.
a listening comprehension (texts to be read and questions corresponding)
a worksheet to do with the presentation.
a list of vocabulary (see copyright below)
(Vocabulary courtesy of the website www.studyclix.ie . see link: https://www.studyclix.ie/Content/Uploads/a607f265-253a-44a5-abcc-21c9242b8e1e.pdf)
A grid with some verbs used in the Leaving Cert Ordinary level exam, but which could be used as a revision aid for the oral exam, for any written work really. (I took the verbs used from the 2015 to 2010 LC ordinary written exam and made a grid for my students). It has 22 verbs in different tenses (infinitive, past, present, future and conditional). I left part of the grid blank at the end so teachers/students can add their own.
Just two documents: an article from the magazine 'La Liberté" untitled: "la vérité est-elle entre les murs" and a worksheet adapted from TV5 worksheets on the movie "Entre les murs" (not related to the article). BUT the most important part I am sharing with you is the website www.filmfra.com !!! It has hundreds of french movies that you can watch online (including Entre les murs), all subtitled in French (although the subtitles are a bit dodgy. They don't display the 'ç' for example) and some on the movies are Americans, still, I am happy I found it, so I'm sharing it with you. Enjoy
Looking for games to do in my class, I stumbled on this document with loads of simple ideas to do games, mimes etc. with a group, not only in a French class. It gave me ideas though so I'm sharing.
Thanks
This is a one slide PowerPoint with a link (click on the picture) to the website www.wheeldecide.com where you can generate your own 'spin the wheel' exercise. I have done a revision of tenses which can be used as a starter with a projector. It really is just an excuse to share this website with you! There are so many possibilities with this! For example, one could do a 'Parle moi de...' spin the wheel game to revise the oral exam.
🎃2 simple and fun reading comprehensions (one easy one hard) where students have to read the text about halloween and draw the items on the picture with the right colour and at the right place.
Students need to know their colours in French, prepositions (devant, entre etc.) and some adjectives.
The vocabulary also has to be introduced beforehand (la lune, l'arbre, un hibou, une sorcière, un balai, une citrouille, une tombe, une chauve souris) which can be done using the whole lesson that I uploaded on TES (see link below).
As the documents are in WORD format, they can also be easily adapted.
🎃🎃🎃These resources are part of a much larger pack "French Halloween La Toussaint Activity Pack" which has 15 files and a 45 slides Powerpoint available in my shop or here:
