KS1: Mental Arithmetic Tests

(0)
This is a collection of mental maths papers/tests for KS1. The two spreadsheets include four sheets each, differentiated four ways (LA, MA, HA and Challenge) and include answer sheets. What makes these different to other published mental maths material, is that each sheet can be randomised by simply pushing F9 on your keyboard, so there are almost an unlimited combination of questions for each paper. This means they can be used as often as you like with very little repetition - simply randomise and print! Use them daily, weekly, termly or as you wish. Use them for early bird, homework or to regularly assess the children's mental computation. Also included on the sheet is a record sheet if you wish to track pupil progress - simply fill in the names and record the results in the grid (scores will be colour coded for easy analysis). The previews represent just a fraction of the sheets that can be produced! More like this... Times Tables and Division Tables Test Generator + BONUS FEATURES

(2)
This is everything you will need to carry out times tables and division tables tests. The brilliantly designed spreadsheet allows you to change the factor/divisor (by changing just one number) and generate random tests (13 questions per test) up to 12x12. A page of answers is also generated to help speed up teacher marking time OR children can self-assess if displayed on board. This resource is a ‘must have’ for all teachers and is a massive TIME SAVER! BONUS FEATURES: 1) The spreadsheet also includes a teacher's record sheet. Select the test from the drop down menu (eg 6x) and record the results for each pupil. The sheet is colour coded so children struggling can easily be identified. It also generates a class average and a pupil average to help you with teacher assessment and to identify class weaknesses. 2) The last sheet on the spreadsheet allows you to generate homework or class worksheets in seconds. Simply change the factor and the sheet does the rest for you. It can also be randomised so the sheet is never the same twice (very unlikely anyway!). These are great to give children for extra practise with a times table they find more challenging. 3) A pupil record sheet is also included with this resources. These can be stuck into maths books for children to carry out the tests. This resource is suitable for all year groups and is everything you need to deliver and support times tables or division tests + more, all in one place and at a bargain price! Note: PDF previews of spreadsheet have been uploaded for your convenience! Objectives covered: Recall and use multiplication and division facts for the 2, 5 and 10 multiplication tables Recall and use multiplication and division facts for the 3, 4 and 8 multiplication tables Recall multiplication and division facts for multiplication tables up to 12 × 12 Multiply and divide numbers mentally, drawing upon known facts Other worksheet generator packs are available: Short Division Long & Short Multiplication Comparing, Ordering & Rounding Column Addition & Subtraction Or why not buy them all in this discounted bundle: Worksheet Generators - Bundle
Year 6 Statistics: Pie Charts (3 Day Unit of Work)

Year 6 Statistics: Pie Charts (3 Day Unit of Work)

(3)
This is a three day unit of work for teaching Pie Charts in year 6. In this resource pack, you will find: Lesson plans (including for your TA), differentiated worksheets (LA, MA and HA plus a challenge activity for deeper understanding/mastery), answer sheets for all activities and flipcharts for whole class teaching (in ActivInspire, PowerPoint and PDF format). This pack will save you hours and hours of planning, resourcing, differentiating, finding challenging activities and generating flipcharts all for an amazing price. In addition, resources are uploaded in both PDF and Word format so that they can be edited to suit your needs. Day 1 focusses on conceptual understanding. Children will develop the idea of a circle representing a value (e.g. 100%, 1, 50 etc) and that the segments of that circle will have a specific value depending on their size. This lesson is an essential first step before attempting to answer questions about, or construct, pie charts. The challenge activity tasks the children with drawing in lines when given certain values - a basic introduction to constructing pie charts. Day 2 involves the children answering questions about a variety of different pie charts using the skills developed in previous session. The children will calculate values, fractions and percentages as well as use estimation to find answers. The challenge activity tasks the children to answer deeper thinking multi-step problems about pie charts. Day 3 involves the children constructing pie charts using given data using skills already developed in previous sessions. They will calculate values of segments and then use these to construct an accurate pie chart and then formulate questions about their pie chart. The challenge activity involves the children constructing more complex pie charts and combining data into one pie chart. ALSO INCLUDED: a bonus (optional) assessment opportunity. Use the investigation template to collect data and construct a pie chart to represent the data. Objectives covered: Interpret and construct pie charts and line graphs and use these to solve problems This three day pack can be purchased on a lesson by lesson basis if preferred.
