During this activity students listen to the Memory Palace podcast - The white horse. This episode was originally released in 2016 in the days after the shooting at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando. It is re-released every year on the anniversary of the incident. The episode chronicles the history of America’s first gay bar and the significance and importance of bars within the LGBTQ community throughout history. Students listen to the 9 minute podcast and then answer the discussion questions listed below the transcript.
