A population of bugs is subjected to different environmental pressures (chosen by throwing dice) and the children work out which bugs would have survived in each scenario.
Over time, Adaptive Features within the population of bugs are seen to change in response to the environment. This provides a very clear visual illustration of evolution happening in real time.
This is a group activity.
It can be re-run to produce different outcomes and, hence, prompt further discussion.
