Polynomial Scavenger Hunt - Degree, Leading Coefficient and Constants

(0)
A scavenger hunt allows students to self check and analyze their own work all while practicing a skill. Students start at any poster, solve the problem and look for the answer around the room. If done correctly, students will end up back at their original poster. This is a great way for total participation for practice and automatic feedback. In this scavenger hunt, students will analyze polynomials to determine degree, leading coefficient and constants. Common Core Aligned: CCSS.HSA.APR.D.6

Converting Between Mixed Numbers and Improper Fractions Scavenger Hunt

(0)
This scavenger hunt has students convert between mixed numbers and improper fractions. During the scavenger hunt, students start at any poster and convert the question to the other form. Students then look around the room for their answer. Once they've found the answer they solve the question on that poster. If done correctly, they will end up back at the same poster. This is a great review or practice activity for students. It is self-checking so students can get immediate feedback about their performance, which they love! Adding and Subtracting Fractions with Unlike Denominators Scavenger Hunt

(0)
This scavenger hunt has students practicing adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators. All answers are in fraction form. Students can start at whatever poster they want and work around to find the next answer. The whole activity is one giant loop, therefore, they will end up back where they started. Our scavenger hunts are a great way to get students practicing and self-checking. Students get the automatic feedback they need by either finding their answer was correct or not finding their answer on a poster and thus knowing they need to resolve.

We've made a trigonometry version of our beloved relay race! In the trigonometry relay race, students are required to use knowledge of: - sine, cosine, tangent - inverse to determine angles - converting degrees to radians and radians to degrees - the unit circle - finding unknown sides using trig functions - exact values of common angles - relationships between sine, cosine and tangent Now with an answer key and equation bank! Our students always love the relay race and is our favorite review for students.

15 Poster - Quadratic Formula Scavenger Hunt

(0)
A 15 poster scavenger hunt that requires students to use the quadratic formula to find their next answer. Students can start at any poster, determine the zeros of the quadratic function, and find a poster with that answer. Once at the new poster, students have a new problem to solve and find solutions. If done correctly, students will end up back at the same poster they started. This is a great activity for students to self reflect on their knowledge. If they get a question wrong they will have to fix it to find the right answer before moving on. This can be used as practice or test review. Answer key included. Complex Numbers Scavenger Hunt

This great activity is a self-checking loop of problems. This set is all to do with complex numbers (see thumbnails for examples. Students choose to start with any question they'd like, determine the answer, and look for it around the room. Once they find the answer, they complete the question on that specific page. The questions are in a big loop so when the student returns back to their original page, they are finished. This is a fantastic way to have a self-checking review. Students know immediately if they did something wrong with their calculations. It also allows students to spread out and work at their own pace.

Composite Functions Task Cards or Stations

(0)
This set of 8 task cards or stations requires students to practice their knowledge of composite functions. Students will solve composite functions substituting numbers, variables and expressions. The functions used for the composite are not complicated; only using linear functions, absolute value functions and quadratic functions. If your students can complete this activity successfully, you know they are ready to ace that assessment! Answer key included. This 15 poster scavenger hunt requires students to examine the characteristics of linear function graphs. Have students analyze a question and find the graph that matches the information. Students will: Determine the x and y-intercepts for a linear equation written in standard form. After finding the information, students will find the graph that matches their intercepts. Students will write down the correct letter on their answer sheet. Extension idea - Have students rewrite the equation in slope-intercept form. This is a great review of intercepts from standard form after instruction or before a test.

This is a set of 10 stations requiring students to determine unknown side lengths or angles. QR codes are provided on each station for students to check their answers. Our students also needed extra practice identifying the proper sides of a triangle so that is included as well on 5 stations. We had our students start with these 5 first to make sure their understanding of triangle sides was adequate. This lesson was a resounding success on reviewing and practicing unknown side lengths and angles. Students were required to use sine, cosine and tangent. They will also need to know the inverse functions to solve for the unknown angles. You may also like: Unit Circle Values Scavenger Hunt Complex Number Scavenger Hunt nth Roots Scavenger Hunt
