This activity has students working with equations with variables on both sides. This is a station activity where students rotate around to each area. Each station asks them to solve different types of equations where the variables are on both sides. This is a great activity to practice solving equations and get your students up and moving around the room to stimulate their brain. This download includes the station documents, note sheet and answer sheet. We have both used this lesson in our classes and the students did an amazing job!
This great activity is a self-checking loop of problems. This set is all to do with finding specific of cosine and sine of a given angle . Students choose to start with any question they'd like, determine the answer, and look for it around the room. Once they find the answer, they complete the question on that specific page. The questions are in a big loop so when the student returns back to their original page, they are finished. This is a fantastic way to have a self-checking review. Students know immediately if they did something wrong with their calculations. It also allows students to spread out and work at their own pace.
Note: The answers specifically leave out the angles as to not give students the answers as they move around from problem to problem.
This 9 poster scavenger hunt requires students to analyze information related to the graphs of linear absolute value functions.
Students are required to use knowledge of absolute minimum/maximum, intervals of increase/decrease, domain and range.
Students are given a sheet with 9 questions. Each question has characteristics of a certain absolute value graph. Students will search the posters to find the graph that matches all the characteristics on their paper. Students will then write the poster letter on their paper.

This modeling and regression analysis activity introduces students to the topic with a hands on activity. Students learn the idea that data is not always perfectly linear and we create models to fit data and predict future information. We have used this activity as a group activity for self exploration and also for direct instruction. We have only had great success with this lesson.
Get ready to have some engaged students! This whole class review will have all students, working in groups, competing to be the winning team. Each group has to work through questions in order to gain points to have the most at the end. The full directions can be found in the preview pages.
For this review, students will answer questions relating to compound interest. Knowledge of continuous compound interest, different compounding intervals, effective interest rate are all covered by the 26 questions. Not all questions need to be completed in order to make this game fun and effective!

This worksheet is for students to practice writing checks. Scenarios are given and the students need to write the checks appropriately.
For my class, this was used in a high school life skills lesson.
This game requires and teaches students to identify 5 pennies equals a nickel, 2 nickels equal a dime and 2 dimes and a nickel equal a quarter.
Directions:
Student rolls a die and takes the same number of pennies as they rolled.
Student places the penny on the board and "trades in" for a nickel at 5 pennies.
At two nickels the student "trades in" for a quarter.
We usually play up to a $1.00 or whomever has the most quarters at the end of time.
This game is also a great sponge activity for those extra few minutes you need to have something for student learning.
This matching activity requires students to match translated functions with their movements (in words and translation notation). The answer key is in order to it is easy to check student answers with your own copy.
This is a great activity for confirming student knowledge as they must sort through a great deal of data and find matches. We were purposeful in making sure that students couldn't just match numbers but have to know the actual translations.

A think tank is a questioning activity created from Bloom's taxonomy. Each questions, starting from the top, becomes more complicated and involved. The think tank we've created here is all about quadratic reflections, translations and dilations. Students are required to use their knowledge of all three to answer 8 questions of progressively challenging questions. This think tank would be great as a homework assignment, test/quiz review, independent/group classwork or even an assessment. After answering the 8 questions students will have clearly demonstrated a solid understanding of Translations, Reflections and Dilations.
This is a straightforward activity involving a problem situation and a pool. Students are given information about the specification about a pool and must come up with the piecewise function, create a table, and graph the information. This is a great way to represent the information in multiple modes and demonstrate a real world example of the importance of piecewise functions. This assignment could be done as a class for instruction or indpendently as a grade or practice. We have completed this lesson in our own classes with great success!
This review is for exponents. The review includes multiplying exponents, dividing exponents, power of zero and negative exponents. The practice problems include variable and coefficients. A power point slide with directions on how to play the relay race game is attached. These directions are very common but you can play in whatever way you'd like. Also attached are questions to cut out and an answer sheet for each student.
One of the biggest internal debates teachers have are review games. We want to make reviews interesting and engaging yet rich and meaningful in regards to content. We have found no better way to combine these two qualities than with a relay race. The relay race requires students to do a large amount of work but also get out of their seats, interact with others and enjoy a friendly competition. This relay race review is focused on probability and central tendencies. Topics covered include; probability, complementary events, complementary probability, mean, median mode, stem and leaf plots, tables and box and whisker plots. This is a great activity for your pre-algebra or algebra 1 students.
This matching activity is designed to be practice for students in finding the x- and y-intercepts of a graph and from an equation. Students will have to use critical thinking skills in order to match the three sets. Finding intercepts is a difficult task for students to attain. This practice will help students see the relation between an ordered pair, equation of a line and a graphed line.
