Challenge sheet to practise and further mathematical skills. Many of the activities focus on deepening their learning from the current lesson, including creating true or false questions, writing instructions based on a method or creating a quiz based on what they’ve learnt. Can be stuck in the back of books or displayed on a working wall for children to access once they’ve completed their work or as one of their tasks in a maths lesson or during independent/paired work time. Poster to encourage reading at home - ‘Rocket Readers’. Certificates provided for each multiple of ten reads. Editable and printable. Used previously in KS1 and Year 3/4, along with rockets with children’s names on.

Worksheet that provides children with 5 sentences (all based around George’s Marvellous Medicine) with missing capital letters and punctuation. Two challenge questions on there to deepen understanding, involving punctuation within sentences using direct speech. Chn to correct.

Worksheet to be used for English/SPAG focusing on word class and sentence types. provides song lyrics and colour coding activity whereby children read the song title and decide if it is: statement, command, noun, adjective, question or exclamation.
Worked well in year 3/4 for recapping but can be adapted to be use in early Y3/end of Year 2 or edited to just focus on word classes etc.

2 week (8 lesson) SPAG/English unit based on key skills such as punctuation, word classes, sentence types. Includes written plan, lesson slides on SMART notebook (PPTS available also) and lesson resources for each lesson. Would work well to recap key SPAG skills from KS1 for Year 3 or to recap from Y3 for Year 4. All based around different Roald Dahl extracts, which are included on the SMARTs so no need to own the books! Involves SPAG and writing activities throughout and ends with a final written assessment piece.
Was originally used in September to begin the year after COVID remote learning but would come in handy to recap. Fully planned and ready to go, but also adaptable where necessary :)
