Know the Properties of 3D shapes Lesson Plan

(0)
A lesson which would be ideal for Year 4 /5 but could easily be adapted to work across KS2 to meet the needs of your children. Ideal in terms of teaching shape specific vocabulary. Integrates the use of Venn diagrams for extra challenge and encourages children to shape their learning by investigating statements. This is simply a plan with suggestions of activities but would be very helpful in terms of helping form a 3D shape lesson.

KS2 Time Investigation

A time investigation based on using a 24 hour clock face to investigate the amount of time the number 5 appears over 12 hours. Very useful as a challenge task or extending pupils. Could be worked on as a group or individually. An good task for prompting children to explain their thinking. Also easily adaptable ensuring it could be used across KS2 as you could change the number or the number of hours.

KS2 Number 4 Facts Activity Table

Ideal for Year 3 or 4! I have created a table which challenges children to answer questions linked to multiplication, division, halving and a mix. All the questions link to the Number 4. 2 The table also includes a Challenge column which has some questions and areas for the children to create their own questions. Could be used as RAP activity, within a lesson or as homework!! A very useful activity, which could even be timed.

This lesson could easily be adapted to be used anywhere across years 4,5 and 6. The plan includes areas to challenge children, as well as examples to model and considers the ability of different children. It’s a good lesson and could be built up on quickly, inlcuding by adaption of the resource.
