Marcos lives in New York. He is writing a memoir about his life. Read the chapter below on what life was like in his village in Mexico during his childhood. Complete the blanks using the imperfect tense. Then, answer the comprehension questions that follow.
Note: The reading is in the imperfect tense except for the last paragraph which is in the preterit. The reading does not link to any particular theme or vocab.

Present subjunctive missing elements activity
Complete each sentence with the missing element: Introductory verb (present tense) and the present subjunctive verb using the word bank provided. Then, add 2-3 words to expand on the sentence. Be sure that your sentence makes sense.
*Note: In each sentence, students are given two different subjects, and either a conjugated introductory verb (present tense) or a conjugated present subjunctive verb.
There are 14 sentences total. A structured template is provided. This practice can be used when students are first introduced to the present subjunctive. Students can complete it individually or in pairs and small groups as a bell ringer, entry or exit slip.

Preterit imperfect quick review practice

Part 1: Next to each infinitive, indicate the type using the following: Write R for regular, I for irregular, SPC for spelling change, STC for stem change. (34 total)

La salud: Original health situations with present subjunctive
Marcos Padilla is a doctor who has been invited to a radio program in his city. Patients can call him and seek advice for their health-related issues. Complete each mini conversation using the following guidelines:
For each patient, create a health situation using column A. All verbs must be conjugated in the yo form present tense. You can also come up with your own situations.
Conjugate the introductory verb from column B in the present tense.
