Students will complete 10 short paragraphs with spelling change verbs in the present subjunctive.
There is one 4 sentence paragraph for each type of spelling change with a different verb for every sentence.
Spelling changes included: car, gar, zar, vowel + cer (c-zc), consonant + cer (c-z), -ger (g-j), gir (g-j), -uir (i-y), -cuir (c-zc), - uar

Subjunctive v indicative identification practice
Students will be given 26 introductory verbs which take the present subjunctive and the present indicative. They will write S for the subjunctive verb and I for the indicative verb.

There are 3 sections per verb type: I, U, and J stem
Section 1: hacer, querer, venir (9 matching conjugations)
Section 2: andar, estar, saber, tener, poner, poder (12 matching conjugations)
Section 3: conducir, traer, decir, producir (8 matching conjugations)

Complete each sentence in an original manner using a different reflexive verb. Do not repeat any verbs. For answers may require an infinitive, the reflexive pronoun must match the subject. Add 3-4 additional words after the reflexive verb to make the sentence longer.

Suggestion: Students can create original questions only and orally interview a classmate. As a follow up, students can then answer their own questions or answer their partner’s questions and submit for a grade.

Students will create 24 different subjects as well. The 24 infinitives are provided for students to use along with a sentence starter for all 4 categories (regular, irregular, stem change, and spelling change)
You can use this activity as a bell ringer or exit slip as students are learning various conjugations of the present subjunctive. Students can also do the activity in pairs or alone as a review for a test or quiz.

ER/ IR verbs original sentences present tense (no collaboration / no translators)
Create 10 original sentences with -er and -ir verbs in the present tense using a different subject and a different verb for each sentence from the list below. Choose 5 -er and 5 -ir verbs. Write your sentences in the template. Add at least 5 to 6 words to make your sentence longer. Sentences must be 7 words minimum. Post the word count at the end of every sentence.
