Introducing the Colourful Semantics Starter Pack from Little Learners Hub – a comprehensive tool designed to support children in constructing and expanding sentences using real-life images and colour-coded prompts. This pack includes: Real-Life Situation Images: High-quality photos of everyday scenarios such as a child playing with a toy, a lady eating an ice cream, or someone at the park. These relatable images provide the context for children to practice building sentences. Colour-Coded Sentence Cards: Who? (Subject) – Orange cards: Features people or animals involved in the action, like “The boy,” “The dog.” Doing? (Verb) – Yellow cards: Action words such as “is playing,” “is eating.” What? (Object) – Green cards: Objects or items involved, like “the ball,” “the cake.” Where? (Prepositions) – Blue cards: Locations like “in the park,” “at the beach.” Adjectives and Link Words: Additional cards to add descriptive words and connectors, helping to make sentences more detailed. Who Benefits? This starter pack is ideal for: Children who struggle with sentence structure: It helps them sequence words correctly and avoid mixing up the order. Visual learners: The colour-coding provides clear, visual support, making sentence construction more intuitive. Children needing language expansion: It helps them go beyond simple sentences by incorporating more elements like adjectives and prepositions. How Colourful Semantics Works Each part of the sentence is associated with a specific colour: Orange for WHO (subject) Yellow for WHAT DOING (verb) Green for WHAT (object) Blue for WHERE (prepositions) As children progress, the colour support is gradually reduced, transitioning to highlighting or underlining text. This visual technique not only improves sentence structure but also enhances language skills, providing children with the confidence to express themselves more clearly.
