Partners quiz each other to see who can get all vocabulary correct and climb "las escaleras", or the stairs. One student has the answer key and the other has the infinitives with subject pronouns. After one makes it to the top of the stairs, students switch parts. This Thanksgiving chant contains 9 different food words, ordinal numbers from first to tenth, 2 ir a + infinitive phrases and a tener expression. Each vocabulary word is repeated 4 times either in its entirety, or partially for longer words which gives students lots of pronunciation practice. Spanish Winter Activities Human Bingo Speaking Activity - Each student mingles with a bingo grid and must find different classmates that can reply yes to each of the 16 boxes. The grids contain questions such as, "Patinas sobre hielo con tu familia o tus amigos?" Examples of other verbs used are montar, ir, pescar, tener, hacer, jugar, ver, esquiar and caminar. When a student replies yes to a question, the interviewing student follows up by asking in Spanish for the student's signature. Several squares have a second question such as "con quien?" which gives both students additional speaking practice. When a student fills the entire grid, he shouts, "Bingo!" A sample statement is, "Pienso que un novio debe hablar conmigo todos los dias." When a student replies yes to a question, the questioning student follows up by asking in Spanish for the student's signature. The goal is to be the first student to fill the entire bingo grid. Also included is a follow up worksheet that requires students to: 1. Write a sentence for each of the 16 boxes in the grid. The student includes the name of the student that signed the box and must change the verbs to the third person. 2.
