Worksheets:
The worksheets are differentiated into two categories:
• ‘LA’ worksheets having additional support in terms of the outcomes as well as sentence stems, word banks, etc.

The powerpoints have detailed step by step instructions and a great quantity of visual examples for a project that should take between 6 and 8 lessons and differentiated booklets that can be used by subject specialists and non-D&T teachers alike, perfect for cover work as well.
If you found this resource useful, please leave a positive review :) Thanks
The rationale:
As D&T teachers return to school, we need a sit down/non-tool based project to start the students off, due to the Coronavirus.
This 6 x 1 hour lesson mini project is an ‘all in one’ prepared resource, containing lesson by lesson powerpoints and differentiated booklets that can be used by subject specialists and non-D&T teachers alike, perfect for cover work as well. The project ends with a sit down design and make lesson.
Powerpoints:
The project is driven by high end, attractive and informative power points, which have detailed instructions and notes, step-by-step animations, with starter, main and plenary activities, as well as home learning included.
Learning Outcomes:
This graphics project is aimed at Year 8 (12 year old) students, who will gain an understanding of how to:
• Lesson 1: Draw in 1 point perspective
• Lesson 2: Draw in 2 point perspective
• Lesson 3: Draw in Isometric projection
• Lesson 4: Rendering the textures of materials
• Lesson 5: Creative Typography
• Lesson 6: Design and make a learning aid (Clock for children)
Project plan:
A scheme of work is also included as a MS Publisher file. This explains the: learning outcomes, starter, main and plenary activities as well as resources required and homework.
Booklets:
The booklets are differentiated into two categories:
• ‘LA’ Booklet having additional support in terms of the outcomes as well as sentence stems, word banks, etc.
• The second category of booklet has differentiation in the form of more open ended tasks as well as ‘Super Challenges’.
D&T Evaluation Worksheets
The reason behind these sheets:
I was getting frustrated with how difficult it was to get students to ‘evaluate’, rather than ‘describe’, as they often did in the D&T project evaluations. The emphasis in these worksheets is to get the student thinking and explaining by answering questions about every stage of the ‘design and make’ process. This has helped them learn the meaning of evaluation through the process of asking reflective questions.
Learning Outcomes:
In this lesson, students will gain an understanding of:
Clear success criteria to guide students on what constitutes a good outcome
Evaluation questions for every part of a ‘design and make’ project, including research methods, Design Process, Mock ups/prototype stage, Manufacture process, CAD/CAM process, including testing and conclusion
How to structure their response in complex sentences, using P.E.E., supported by using differentiated materials.
Power point:
The attractive and visual power point can be used on the white board and also printed as a worksheet, as can the question slide
Power point Worksheets/categories:
The worksheets are differentiated into two categories, so that students who have learning difficulties (LA) will not be overwhelmed and will have much more literacy support with sentence stems.
The second category that caters to the middle and higher ability student has differentiation in the form of more open ended tasks as well as ‘Challenges’. I have left super challenges blank so a student can fill this in themselves to be more independent!
In theory, one sheet could be used to support the other, or even used for lower school VS. upper school evaluations
Please leave a positive review if this helped, thank you!
This is an artist worksheet, that includes analysis questions about Van Gogh’s Sunflowers - 1889. This is suitable for lesson, cover, home work or baseline assessment.
On this all in one sheet, there are boxes for students to:

I have found that the Year 13 DT GCSE students need more direction in the research section and this needs to feed into their specification. Taking a more project management style approach so that everything is planned will hopefully guide students to be more independent in their own enquiry and result in far more meaningful outcomes for this section.
I thoroughly researched this, coming up with a massive bank of relevant subject specific vocabulary/questions/processes/techniques for helping students to get top marks in this section.
Learning outcomes:
In this A-level coursework task, Students will gain an understanding of:
How to plan, structure and complete (mainly primary) research in a timely manner
How to structure research so that it links excellently to their Specification, to get the highest possible mark
An outlined 3-step process to guide students to success in outlining, developing and planning their research independently.
Far more detailed lines of enquiry using ACCESS FM+ that students can use.

The learning concept:
The concept is that the acronym SCAMPER is used by each consecutive student to alter the last students’ design. I normally allow each student ten minutes per alteration. The students really enjoy this activity and it can be stretched to a 1 hour duration
Learning Outcomes:
In this lesson, students will gain an understanding of:
Different design movements
Free hand sketching as they can use other’s designs as a springboard for inspiration
Gain confidence in annotating each other’s designs
This will culminate in them drawing more complex combinations of these designs, which can then be judged by the student or peer assessed to describe the favourite design.
Students will also learn subject specific key words that will underpin their design and technology vocabulary.
Power point:
The attractive and visual power point can be used on the white board and also printed as a worksheet.
Printed as two worksheets, there is a blank and also a differentiated version where one idea is already started so that students do not struggle with ‘blank page syndrome’. This has first example models success criteria in the form of detailed annotation and a strong product design influenced by the example swatches on the left side of the page.

• Lesson 1: Draw in 2 point perspective
• Lesson 2: Adding cast shadows in 2 point perspective
• Lesson 3: How to draw in Isometric P.2
• Lesson 4: 3rd angle orthographic translation from Isometric
• Lesson 5: How to design branding, typography and colour
• Lesson 6: Design and make a Point of Display using a NET
Project plan:
A scheme of work is also included as a MS Publisher file. This explains the: learning outcomes, starter, main and plenary activities as well as resources required and homework.
Booklets:
The booklets are differentiated into two categories:
• ‘LA’ Booklet having additional support in terms of the outcomes as well as sentence stems, word banks, etc.
• The second category of booklet has differentiation in the form of more open ended tasks as well as ‘Super Challenges’.

• The importance of a good rationale, a contextual challenge and design problems and opportunities, as well as designing with a client in mind
• The importance of investigating using primary, secondary and client research, with extra information on client interviews and discussion of anthropometric, ergonomic and site specific research
• Inspiration: Time to start doing designs – initial concepts. CAD can also be used.
• Consider ongoing research throughout folder that will help an iterative design approach.
Potential learning outcomes:
Section A of NEA
Can be used for 4-5 lessons (including student activity)

LIVEN UP YOUR DISPLAYS!
This is a nice Yr 7 1 hour activity - all that is needed is colouring pencils and scissors as well as a4 paper trimmed in half into strips.
I also printed out and distributed the inspiration sheets - or have on board.
A nice cover or filler as well as the end of term!
Enjoy!
