An introduction to Geography - a simple one page worksheet that gets students to think about what Geography is and by using photographs divide the subject into its two major areas, physical and human geography. To best use this worksheet get the students to answer the first question, "What is Geography?" and then discuss their answers as a class. Then let them study the photographs drawing out the various elements and deciding for themselves whether each landscape is more focused on physical or human geography.
A circular word search (aka word maze) requiring students to find the main instruments used to measure weather elements. Also includes a table to identify the element of weather an instrument is used to measure and its unit of measurement.
An answer key is provided on the second page for both the word search and the table.

A crossword puzzle that looks at the terms used in the topic of Geography of Human Wellbeing. Useful as a revision exercise for students. Answers included.
This is a worksheet (5 pages) that will get your students to investigate the 2017 South Asian Monsoon Floods. The first page students are taken to a website where they can answer general questions on the Asian monsoon. Page 2 has a map that shows the average arrival dates of the monsoon across the sub-continent as well as climate statistics for three cities (Mumbai, Dacca and New Delhi) that students are asked to create climate graphs in the grids provided. Page 3 has a climate table for students to fill in from the statistics on page 2, a question where they have to give a written description of Mumbai's climate as well as a creative writing piece about life before and after the arrival of the monsoon. On page 4 students will write notes on the impact of this year's monsoon on the countries of South Asia using information from weblinks provided. Page 5 has a number of questions that your more able students may want to investigate with again some useful weblinks.
An answer sheet is provided for teachers as a separate file.
You may want to give your students a couple of lessons to complete this worksheet or perhaps give it to them as a homework assignment.
European countries in three sets of wordsearches and mapping exercises. Requires students to find 30 countries (10 in each exercise) and locate them in the map at the centre of the word search.

This is a mapping exercise that requires students to map the track of Tropical Cyclone Harold (April 2020) from information given in a table.
This exercise is also part of the TC Harold Enquiry, also available on my store.
This is a one page worksheet that shows a cold front passing across Eastern Australia in July 2015. The questions ask students to interpret the weather map and to explain the cold front and associated polar vortex that brought snow as high as Queensland in Eastern Australia. Requires some internet research.
Geography in the News is quiz based on current news from a geographic perspective. This quiz will suit students from upper primary school to upper high school.
A new quiz is published on Sunday each week based on news of the previous week. This quiz is a climate change special edition.
The quiz has two pages with five mapping questions and 15 multiple choice questions - answers are given in the second pdf download.

A series of two synoptic charts and four worksheets that introduce students to floods and investigate the floods in Eastern Australia during February/March 2022.
