Year 7 Baseline Assessment
This is a very episodic scheme that I am currently using with Year 7 to introduce them to Drama and some of the basic skills needed to progress.
It is still a work in progress but hopefully it comes as some use to some of you!
60 Minute A Midsummer Night's Dream Script
This is an abridged version of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. I used this version for my school production and the running time was approximately 60 mins. It still includes all of the key moments and phrases that an audience want to see in performance.
The performance of this script was a great success.
Commedia Dell'Arte SOW
This is a unit of work planned for KS3 to introduce them to the key elements of Commedia Dell’Arte.
It involves a short introduction to the following characters:
Zanni
Brighella
Harlequino
El Dottore
Pantalone
Magnifico
Isabella
Capitano
As well as introducing students to lazzi and grammelot.
This unit comprises of 10 performance based lessons (including 3 rehearsal lessons)
An Introduction to John Godber
This is a unit of work designed for KS3, where students look at the work of John Godber and his unique style of performance. This unit would also work as an introduction to GCSE Drama.
The purpose of this unit is to teach students about exaggerated physicality and voice and how they can multi-role effectively on stage.
The unit begins with a focus on Teechers and also focuses on the Barbers/Hairdressers scene from Bouncers.
Resources have been adapted so that they are appropriate for a younger audience.
AQA GCSE Drama: Devising Log Resource Pack
This resource pack includes a recommended structure for students to follow when writing their devised Drama log.
It also includes annotated exemplar material which students can use as a scaffold.
This is for the AQA GCSE Drama course.
Blood Brothers Introduction - Unit of Work for Drama
This is an 11 lesson SOW based on Blood Brothers, by Willy Russell.
The unit focuses mostly on the relationships of Mrs Johnstone and Mrs Lyons as well as Edward and Mickey.
The first 9 lessons re performance based and include introductions to narrative and character relationships.
The final two lessons are theory based, with students required to create a “director’s notebook”.

IGCSE Drama Revision Guide (Zone 13) 2024
This is a PDF revision guide that includes information on both the scripted extracts for the IGCSE Drama exam 2024.
This resource is designed for Zone 13 and focuses on the texts The Big Time and Kantan.
The revision guide includes basic scripted informaton as well as design suggestions. This will give all students a fantastic bank of ideas for the written exam.
There are also some sections included on key terminology that students could use in their exam.
Please note that ChatGPT has been used to generate some of this information and pictures.
Devising and Improvisation SOW
This is a KS3 unit based on devising and improvisation. The SOW includes a number of episodic style lessons using a variety of stimulus and results in students creating their own performance from a stimulus pack. This resource includes 11 detailed lessons and the stimulus pack for the final performances.
