A great resource for EYFS and KS1 with word mats and drawing activities connected to the Stage 1 Phonics Initial sounds. I tried this out with a student yesterday and she loved the graphics and the drawing activities.
30 page booklet for Upper KS1 and KS2 based on Roald Dahl’s Fantastic Mr. Fox. This powerpoint and PDF file can be printed out as individual worksheets or as a complete workbook for the entire class. The resource is in black and white with a coloured front cover. There are a variety of activities which can be given to all children therefore it is great for differentation. Would be very useful when doing guided reading.
The activities included are: descriptive writing, plurals, diminutives, poetry writing, book reviews, drawing and labelling activities, letter writing, favourite character and reasons why, themes in the novel, characteristics of the characters, discussion around quotes from the novel, internet research, vocabulary exercises, conflict Man v Nature. Many teachers in both KS1 and KS2 have children who are reluctant to write. These children often require prompts. This 20 page printable resource is in black and white. Another original short story written by me in a child friendly vocabulary set in 1895, Jayne, the young lady of the house is attending a ball in the manor and waiting patiently for a young suiter to appear. There are various characters in the story and this could be used as an introduction to a long novel, Shakespearian or Dickensian literature in preparation for Grammar/ Secondary school.
