the-ladybird-who-heard An interactive PowerPoint SHOW that students play in the form of a search and reveal. Questions to be used for the story ‘What the ladybird heard’ by Julia Donaldson.
Comprehension questions are given and students press the star to reveal the answers. When the student has seen the three answers to choose from, they press the correct answer button. Correct answers lead them to the next question. Incorrect questions take them back to read the question again.
This is a nice game to play with the whole class to check for understanding. Also, a great exit game. I have tried this with my own Year One class and they have loved playing this. You can extend the questions by asking students to explain why they selected their answers.

This is a phonic power point for the phoneme /sh/. Phonological awareness concepts are included, such as; identifying the /sh/ sound in the beginning, middle and end of words and blending sounds to read words. For differentiation purposes, some extension slides are included that cover sounds not regularly taught prior to the /sh/ phoneme. Sound buttons under each word encourage students to sound out each word prior to reading.
