A complete lesson looking at the issues surrounding an ageing population. References the old Oxford Textbook as an information source. Designed for the AQA A Syllabus but easily adapted.
Three lessons that cover the population section of the AQA Geography Economic World Section. Lessons cover the DTM, population pyramids and migration into Europe.
A lesson covering the One Child Policy. It makes reference to the older Oxford textbook. The history, development and impacts of the policy are covered. It updates the textbook information and includes the repeal of the policy in 2015.
A complete lesson that explores the various causes of deforestation. Whilst it makes some reference to the Oxford Textbook the information is included with the resource and so the lesson can be used as a standalone activity. The information is presented as a diamond 9 activity to encourage analysis of the information and a more evaluative approach. A variety of exam style questions are included to demonstrate the difference between 6 and 9 mark questions. Very little preparation is required - simply print off the statements for the diamond 9 activity.
An introductory lesson to the topic of glaciation. It investigates the extent of ice coverage during the last ice age and the evidence in the landscape of glaciation. An enquiry approach is taken but the main activity is a more practical map based task which asks students to locate key evidence for past glaciation on an outline map of the British Isles. The Oxford and Hodder books are referenced but an atlas would work just as well.

This is a KS3 version of the GCSE activity that can be found elsewhere. Objectives have been altered accordingly but still relate to the new numerical GCSE levels. A variety of activities are included to encourage students to explore the various contributory factors. various differentiated assessment activities are also included. A complete lesson requiring no additional preparation.
This lesson looks at how the plants and animals have adapted to the climatic conditions found in the rainforest. It relies heavily on short video links to illustrate the key points, so David Attenborough does most of the teaching. Links are also included to the new Oxford Book but access to this is not vital. I have also included a knowledge organiser revision sheet and a guided answer exam question to encourage students to structure their responses appropriately.
