This is a PowerPoint resource with 2 matching differentiated worksheets for a middle to top group year 7 class. The learning objectives of the lesson are (a) to understand how height is shown on a map, and (b) to produce maps showing height. This lesson includes a video, images and explanation, as well as a resource to build a 3D hill using cut-out contours which can be printed and built in class. Tasks on the 2 differentiated worksheets are to be done alongside the PowerPoint and include: -writing down points from a video (listening exercise) -matching contour lines to the shaped hill (visual exercise) -using spot heights to draw contours (learning exercise) -drawing their own contour lined hill (consolidation and assessment) -a quick recap quiz (quick assessment)
