I created 6 week’s Art planning teaching OpArt (Optical Illusions). This was taught to Year 4 students but could be easily adapted for other year groups. The year group loved learning about Optical Illusions and had great fun creating their own!

I have attached all the Notebooks used during the lesson, lesson resources and planning for the half term.

If you find these resources useful, I would really appreciate if you could post a review.

Thank you!

This download includes:

A week’s worth of detailed planning to challenge your Y5 pupils

I’ve used this with my class for 5 years- my students respond really to this,

Every Monday, a volunteer counts the total number of table points received. One person from the winning table wins a prize for the prize box- the winner can be chosen from a number of ways e.g. names in a hat/ raffle ticket; class vote who has worked really well this week or TA/ CT may chose. Before the end of the year, each student would’ve received a prize from the prize box- I made sure the same person wasn’t chosen twice.

This block planning is based around the text ‘Seasons of Splendour: Tales, Myths and Legends of India’, written by Madhur Jaffrey.

The structure of the guided reading planning is:
D1- Reciprocal Reading
D2- Reading Comprehension
D3- Follow up task

There are notes in the PPT comment section along with a grid where you can add your pupil’s names and a timetable across the week. After 3 days, a new tale from the text is looked at and tasks are related to that particular story.

I used this for my Year 4 class however, it can be used for Y5 and Y6 too. This was used as whole class guided reading, where I focused and worked with a different group each day.

I created this class assembly script and PPT to showcase my talented class and some of the things we had been learning e.g. Tudors. In the script, I have included video links and detailed dialogue for numerous students in your class. Some pupils created a dance which they showed in the assembly, while others were dressed in Tudor clothing and modelling in a fashion catwalk.

If you have been asked to class a spectacular class assembly to showcase to parents and senior leaders of the school, then look no further!

Attached are the plans, lesson Notebooks and resources for this unit of work which is planned for Year 4 pupils- though it can easily be adapted for other year groups too.

Please post a review, if you found these resources useful!

This lesson has been planned for Y5 students however you may adapt and use with Y3, Y4 and/ or Y6 students. There is a lesson PPT which I have created for our Food tech topic, Success Criteria stickers (would be great to print these on stickers so they can be stuck directly into books) and an evaluation for SEN or EAL (depending on ability.

Hope this is helpful!

Hi everyone,
Let me know what you think!

Lesson details:
LI: Can I recognise and describe the physical and human features of Egypt?

Success Criteria:
-I can understand key aspects of human geography.
-I can find out about key monuments and locations in Egypt.
-I can understand the importance of wider geographical locations in understanding places.

Challenge: I can include information about climate, currency, leisure activities and language.

Great for home learning :)

Once my class and I have discussed and decided on the rules and expectations, we typed it up on this format; cut it out, stuck it together; students and teachers signed the last page then we laminated it. I then have it displayed in the class- I have used this template for 5 years :)

EAL- Simple matching the ecosystems with the image task. I have used this a few y5 students who are new to English but this visual resource could also be used for students in Y3, y4 and Y6.

Hope this is useful!

DT activity for EAL/ SEN students (visual prompts)- could be used for KS1/KS2 students

Task: Can you find out the names of these ingredients? Have you tried any of these ingredients- what did you think?
Challenge: Describe these ingredients.

The first image is Salami (in case you’re wondering!)

Hope this resource is helpful!

I used this with a Y5 class for our Egyptian topic- it led to a great discussion, some students referred to human rights and british values! (Prior to this lesson students had learnt about who he was and the story of Tutankhamun’s tomb- which was fascinating!)

Hope this is useful!

Spelling words are from Y5/6 National Curriculum

Disclaimer: English and Maths work is from other online sources- differentiated work since homework is given out to all students. (Maths activities are from Twinkl and English activities are from various online sources- I did not create them)

Topic homework- is related to the topic I was teaching (Alchemy Island)

The attached documents where used for Summer T1 but you can adapt and use this homework for any time in the year.

Hope these resources are helpful!
