Use this guide to support revision, planning or use to help you prepare for your listening paper. Use this resource to memorise common questions and use whilst attempting listening questions at home or in class. Thinking like an examiner, apply this resource to any extract from each AOS to build resilience.

I have provided a guide to making the most of the exam time and provided exams of when/what to do and how to approach the paper. There are common questions that are not specific that one AOS or style of music. The guidance provided supports learners by providing scaffolded guidance to develop confidence.

Additional information required to enrich this resource:
WHW – method of describing what you hear. What instrument. How it is play. What rhythm/Where played?
How do instruments work together? Again – think about the layers, WHW (as above), the roles the instrument plays in the ensemble and how they interact with one another (call and response)
STOP DR TED TIM - helps student work their way through each musical device/element (Structure, Tempo, Ornamentation, Pitch etc)
