PowerPoint and Worksheet exploring the use of emotive language in newspapers.
The lesson begins with students discussing what they think emotive language is/where it might be used. Then a series of newspaper titles are shown where the students raise their hands whenever they hear an emotive word. This then leads in to a task where the students have to re-write news headlines so that they are as emotive as possible before analysing an emotive newspaper article.
Timers are built in to the PowerPoint.
