A KS1 history lesson which compares toys which are old and new. In this lesson children learn about old and new toys through either by bringing them into the classroom or through videos which are embedded in this resource. This lesson focuses on the difference between clockwork toys which are powered by a spring in contrast to new toys which are battery powered. As well as this the materials of the toys is discussed to provide context to why older toys are made out of wood rather than plastic.
