MEGA Bundle 2023 CBCA Shortlisted Books - Younger Readers - Six Novel Studies

This is a HUGE 500+ page mega-bundle of novel studies based on all six books included on the 2023 CBCA shortlist for Younger Readers.

It contains individual novel studies for the following six books:

• Runt by Craig Silvey (my personal pick for the win!)

• The Way of Dog by Zana Fraillon

• The Raven’s Song by Zana Fraillon and Bren MacDibble

• Xavier in the Meantime by Kate Gordon

• August and Jones by Pip Harry

• Evie and Rhino by Neridah McMullin

Each novel study includes:

• A detailed comprehension guide, targeting both inferential and literal comprehension skills, plus specific comprehension skills like author purpose, predicting, summarising, cause and effect, sequencing, characterisation, figurative language and more.

• An answer guide for every text.

• Integrated writing activities - informative, persuasive and imaginative based on each novel.

• Teaching tips and recommendations.

• Creative Responses (at least 9 for every book), based on the events of the text. These are designed to completely independent with NO PREP required. Work is either completed on a device, paper or in student workbooks.

• A full-colour set of 10 literature circle activities based on each book. These can be printed and laminated or simply placed on the class screen for students to select from. Literature Circle activities include a range of integrated skills, such as Creative and Practical Arts, history, research skills and more.

The novels in this bundle range in age suitability from Stage 2 to Stage 4. Age suitability guides are given for each book.

This bundle of work is literally MONTHS of reading work for students. The programs are designed to be open-ended, so you can use them for a whole-class text, or small group work. Comprehension questions can be both verbal or printed for a written response from students.
