**National Curriculum, Model Music Curriculum, National Plan for Music Education, Ofsted review… This document summarises these publications, noting all the key information, and organising it, in a clear-to-understand format, to demystify and clarify the content. **

*As Primary Music Subject Coordinators, whether our schools employ a ready-made curriculum, or create their own units of learning, we can all benefit from the latest ideas. But, getting our heads around the subject publications can sometimes be too much on top of a busy working week. I have created this document to bring some clarity and organisation to the content of the key publications and to explain the latest jargon. I hope you find it useful and that it saves you time. *

I have deliberately kept the cost low so please don’t email it freely to others. I know it’s tempting. That said, Pages 26-29 of this document - ‘Jargon Busting’ - are available as a free resource. Please feel free to share these pages, but kindly reference the source. Feedback is appreciated.

Contents:

  • The 2014 Primary National Curriculum: Music.
  • The 2021 Model Music Curriculum.
