Preterit imperfect sentence completion practice

Part 1: Complete each sentence using a different conjugated verb in the preterit or imperfect tense. Do NOT repeat any verbs. Then, add 3-4 words to expand on the sentence. Sentences should not be repetitive (using the same words over and over).

*Students will write a total of 12 sentences in the template provided.

Template: Clue word + Subject + Conjugated verb + Add 3-4 words

Ex: Ayer / Yo / ___________+ ___________

Part 2: Complete the sentences by conjugating the verbs in the preterit or imperfect. (5 sentences total)

Example:

1. Yo _______________con mi amigo mientras (while) mi hermano ______________ un libro. (hablar, leer)

Answer key is included on page 2 for part 2 only. For part 1, student answers will vary.
