Winter can be crazy, but if you’re looking to practice rhythm AND keep your students engaged in fun activities in elementary music, then you need this winter themed composition set. This composition activity includes winter composition boards in different meters and rhythms.

To use: Have students compose rhythms on winter themed composition boards.

There are 5 different meters included: 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 5/4, and boxes instead of meters. Composition boards include one measure and two measures.

Minims - Half notes
Breve - Whole notes
Dotted minims - Dotted half note
Semiquavers - Sixteenth notes
Triplets
Tatika (eighth, 2 sixteenths)
Tikati (2 sixteenths, eighth)
Timka (dotted eighth, sixteenth)
Dotted crotchet, quaver - Dotted quarter, eighth
Syncopa (eighth, quarter, eighth)
