Lesson for year 7s to encourage their enjoyment of poetry. You will need a post-it for each student. They distinguish between prose and poetry, identify key features and write their own version of WCW's brilliant poem. Display post-its around the class.

If you're not following this, then search the other lessons on this site . There will most likely be 8 in total. Students now encounter adverbs and begin to use them in their description of their hero. Worksheet included. This IS for lower ability but can be adapted easily.

The old problem of the farmer/goat/cabbage and wolf brought to you in technicolour. Students work in teams or pairs to solve the problem and work out the best way to present their solution to the class. Works well as a starter for lots of objectives.
