An easy, end-of-unit or end of year project based on religious festivals and ceremonies. Students can use prior knowledge of religious ceremonies and festival to create their own, celebrating anything they like. Students should think about the factors that make a religious ceremony and its importance. Aimed at year 8.

Worksheet that can be used for revision purposes. Students should link all the concepts in the bubbles to other bubbles and then write along the lines how and why the two concepts link together. Can be edited for specific themes eg the Mosque, or can cover the entire unit of work. I like to photocopy in A3.

I use this lesson as an introduction to Buddhist views on ethical issues - it starts the students thinking about situations and linking metta and karuna (loving kindness and compassion) to ethics. It has an old AQA 6 mark question and markscheme on it - but this could be easily adapted to the new 5 mark or 12 mark questions for the new specification.

These are all the quotes specified throughout the Eduqas A Level Religious Studies spec. I have put a passage/quote per page. I have used these as a display and turned them into a small booklet that students can annotate with meanings and context. I have also started using the quotes at y10/y11 so that the students can start to memorise them before they start the A Level.
