A Religion and Human Rights Unit lasting 6 hours that was created for Year 9 RE, but could easily be used for a capable Year 8 or none-GCSE KS4 group.
Each lesson is very detailed, editable and differentiated three ways with colour-coded challenge tasks for every activity. The lessons are very easy to follow as all the instructions are on the PowerPoints and worksheets. Each of the individual lessons have had excellent reviews so far.
The unit includes:
Religion and Community Cohesion - A fully-resourced, detailed and differentiated lesson which serves as an introduction to religious attitudes towards community cohesion, immigration and human rights.
Religion, Gender and LGBT+ A fully-resourced, detailed and differentiated lesson which serves as an introduction to religion, gender and human rights issues. The lesson explores traditional male and female roles in Christianity and Islam as well as present day issues and conflicts. Clashes with the LGBT+ community are also explored and how some religious organisations are reaching out in support.

The lesson explores present day global issues and conflicts, whilst analysing scripture and recent court cases. The focus is on Christianity and Islam, from clothing and burkinis to LGBT+ cakes and freedom of speech.

Attraction and Crushes PSHE Lesson - 1 hour - 90 min, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for upper KS2 or lower KS3 all about different types of attraction and what it means to have a crush. The lesson is LGBTQ+ friendly and includes a comprehensive introduction to new terminology students may not have heard of before . The lesson emphasises the fact that people can experience attraction to different genders, have different sexualities and that some people just may not feel anything but platonic attraction. Students will examine what it feels like to have a ‘crush’ and how people may behave differently when experiencing one. All content has been written to cover the new 2020 PSHE Association Guidelines.
The lesson has been left editable and is filled with engaging, well differentiated and fun activities. It is designed to be ‘no prep’, so you can just pick it up and use it, although it is still adaptable should you wish to.

2024 UPDATE! An anti-bullying lesson focused around the theme of respecting each other and the power of respect.
Includes editable PowerPoint, worksheets, clip tasks, activities, (all differentiated three ways). The lesson focuses on the importance of respect in relation to both bullying and successful interpersonal relationships. This could be used over a week of Tutor Time, or as a one-off, one-hour lesson.
Students will be introduced to different ways of easily showing respect in a variety of relationships and settings, complete a variety of tasks and watch official anti-bullying week 2024 clips with questions and answers included. They will assess exactly what we mean when we talk about respect, and explore how respect can help us combat bullying.

Protected Characteristics and the Equality Act
Primary PSHE lesson created for Upper KS2 - Specifically Year 6, although it may also suit lower KS3 students in Year 7.
In this lesson, students will delve into the concept of fairness and examine the differences between equity and equality. We will revisit the term discrimination, then expand on prior knowledge by exploring real-life examples of both direct and indirect discrimination. The class will discuss which groups in our society might require additional support to ensure they have the same opportunities as everyone else. This will naturally lead to an exploration of the Equality Act and its protected characteristics, highlighting how the law helps level the playing field for those most vulnerable to discrimination.
The lesson includes a starter activity, a video task with reflection questions, a creative poster design activity, and a reflective plenary. The lesson is fully resourced and ready to use, but also editable for customisation. This session is best suited to students in Upper Key Stage 2 (specifically Year 6), as it builds on earlier lessons on prejudice and discrimination introduced in Year 4.

An assembly which focuses on why positive attitudes towards learning and good behaviour are essential in order for students to have successful futures. The assembly encourages the students to link their behaviour they display now with their future career prospects and exam results.
The assembly also explores the concept of unrealistic expectations when it comes to career prospects and emphasises why working hard at school is not only important but essential for eventual happy and fulfilled lives.
Lasts 15-20 mins if all questions asked and clip is watched.

A mega- quiz that is perfect for GCSE students revising content for the beliefs, teaching and practices aspects of their RS exam. The quiz includes some challenging (and some very challenging) revision questions for both Islam and Christianity - including quote analysis. All answers, exam board definitions (AQA) and explanations are included on each slide.
This revision quiz was created for AQA Spec A (Islam and Christianity focus) but is also great for other exam boards with a focus on Islamic and Christian beliefs and practices - or could also be used as a fun way to push a top set KS3 group.
This is editable, comes with instructions and has enough material to keep you going for at least an hour.

1 hour, fully resourced PSHE lesson, very useful for anti-bullying week 2024 as the theme is choose respect. Suitable for upper KS2 or lower KS3 all about the following (as specified by the new 2020 PSHE Association Guidelines):
‘How students can respect the differences and similarities between people, listen and respond respectfully to a wide range of people, (including those whose traditions, beliefs and lifestyles may be different to themselves). Includes how to discuss and debate topical issues, respect other people’s point of view and constructively challenge those we may disagree with.’

Students will explore the factors that can lead to a decrease in fertility, in both males and females, before exploring the options for those trying to conceive. Students will investigate common reproductive issues such as polycystic ovary syndrome and endometriosis. 2 HOUR lesson all about knife crime, who is particularly vulnerable to become involved and why and the measures the UK is taking to keep young people safe. Students will investigate the link with wider gang violence and influence, and the pressure put on gang members to commit illegal activities. They will also examine the consequences of such illega, on victims and perpetrators as well as the lasting effect on families and communities. They will explore personal stories from those who turned their lives around, but still live with many regrets of ever getting involved in the first place.
This has been created to best suit KS3 but is suitable for KS4 too and is entirely editable. It covers the DfE and PSHE Association guidance for 2020-24 and will last you two hours.
