Seeking permission (consent) & unsafe touch PSHE lesson. A one-hour long, very detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for KS2. This lesson has been created for Year 3, however, the contents of the lesson are suitable for students across KS2. In this lesson, the students will be introduced to the concept of asking others for permission. This lesson serves as a gentle introduction to consent in the context of physical contact with others e.g. offering a hug to a friend. We will begin by discussing the need to ask permission in a range of scenarios including those in a classroom setting. We will role-play asking for permission politely, and the correct way to respond if someone says no. In the latter half of the lesson, the students will be introduced to the safe & unsafe touch rule. After a short video clip, the students will complete a short assessment task. The lesson includes an information sheet, a video clip task, a set of case studies, a written assessment, and a reflection-based plenary task.
