About
Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers. And it’s a fantastic opportunity for everyone in school to connect with the people who grow the produce that we all depend on.
When they learn through focusing on fair trade, children and young people can understand how global trade patterns impact on poverty and development, and the impact we all have on the world around us as consumers and citizens.
They can investigate the notion of fairness, and what it means to be fair to one another.
They can look at topics such as where our food comes from or what sustainable development means for people everywhere, and they can reflect on the power they have to change the world around them for the better.
