French Adjectives Les Adjectifs Activity

(0)
For MFL / FSL, KS3, KS4 or even adult language learners, this giant French Adjectives vocabulary crossword puzzle, is great for cover lessons, starters or early finishers activities or as an extension challenge activity after a focus on Les Adjectifs. Use this huge puzzle to revise and extend vocabulary. There are 116 words in the puzzle, all singular adjectives and a mixture of masculine and feminine spellings. PDF format - 16 pages. You could return to it over several sessions. This is low prep, great for collaboration, printable, differentiated, has an answer key, and there’s even an optional hidden sentence challenge! Best not used with absolute beginners, as it’s designed to review AND expand students’ existing vocabulary, to provide a challenge. Depending on experience and ability of students and level of support given, this can work with Key Stage 3 and 4 and beyond. Please click on the preview file to check suitability for your students. Fun: Giant crosswords are enjoyable to complete. Low prep: Great for sub lessons and busy times. Flexible: Can fill a whole lesson or more, or be completed over multiple days. Early finishers: Great as an early finisher activity or extension, maybe to be competed over several sessions. Collaboration: Although it can be used for individuals, it’s especially good for pairs or small groups. Differentiation: Alternative clue page & vocab support page. Challenge: Fun hidden sentence extension!   HOW TO DIFFERENTIATE THIS ACTIVITY: There are 2 versions of the clue sheets – one with just the word itself in English (to be translated into French) and an easier version with the first letter given. Choose whether to provide the alphabetical answer list, perhaps just to support certain students, or distribute it only when students have done as much as they can independently Consider using mixed-ability groups Decide whether to allow access to online or traditional dictionaries, perhaps later when students have completed as much as they can independently Consider whether to use the hidden sentence challenge version (students use a blank grid with stars printed on certain squares, and then put the letters together from the star boxes to spell out a hidden word). There are 2 versions of the recording sheet for this challenge, should you wish to use them, and separate answer keys Early finishers could be directed to online sources to check out the pronunciation of unfamiliar words Whatever you choose, I hope your students have as much fun completing it as I did compiling it! You might want to expand the crossword if using with larger groups but if you can’t, it will still work in standard size. YOU MIGHT ALSO LIKE: French KS2 / KS3 MEGA BUNDLE 1

If they do, they reply in French, saying ‘J’ai…’ (I have…) and so on. Active Oral Game - 36 game cards (18 identical pairs). Students are given a card each and move around to find the player with the matching card by asking and answering questions about pets. 2 versions: the first set has French prompts for lower ability or younger students and the other set has words in English only. If required, use a mixture of the two sets for differentiation. Bingo / Noughts and Crosses (Tic Tac Toe): 8 cards for a group game of Bingo (the teacher or a student could read out words) or Noughts and Crosses (students take it in turns to say aloud a French pets word from their card). If cards are laminated, students could write on them with a dry-wipe marker.   Thank you so much for supporting my resources.   RESOURCES FOR MORE TOPICS… Body Parts Calendar Classroom Objects and Schools Colours Clothing Describing People (Physical and Character) Food and Drink Greetings and Introductions Houses Numbers Sports and Hobbies Transport Weather

Decimals Activities KS2

3 Resources
KS2 (especially Year 5 and 6) Decimals Puzzles Worksheets and Games. Fun lesson activities for revision of Ordering Decimals, Mental Addition and Subtraction of Decimal Numbers, Multiplying and Dividing Decimals by 10, 100 and 1000 and Multiplying Decimals Using Times Tables Facts. Ideal for starters, warm ups, early finishers challenges, revision tasks and homework. All resources in PDF. Answers supplied where relevant. Please check individual resource pages and previews to see if these will meet your needs. Included resources: 7 Hidden Word / Spot the Mistakes Puzzles: Ordering (to two decimal places) Ordering (to three decimal places) Mental Addition and Subtraction (to one decimal place) Mental Addition and Subtraction (to two decimal places) Multiplying by 10, 100 and 1000 Dividing by 10, 100 and 1000 Multiplying using Times Tables Facts An engaging alternative to standard worksheets, these no prep puzzles can be completed individually or in pairs / groups. They are similar to codebreaker puzzles, with a maths-related word to be revealed after completing the calculations. Each puzzle contains a grid. Within each box is a decimals calculation and a letter. Students circle any boxes containing errors. Then they put together the letters from the remaining boxes to reveal a maths word. Students often forget or avoid checking their own work for errors so it’s great to get them carefully checking the calculations in these puzzles. Spotting common errors may help them remember to check their own work and help them avoid common errors themselves. Well-differentiated Decimal Place Value Four-in-a-Row Game Boards and Cards: Use for consolidation of decimal place value understanding and ordering decimal numbers (1, 2 and 3 decimal places). Includes: • Two sets of 54 decimal number cards featuring numbers from 0.001 to 2.01 (1 set includes numbers up to 2 decimal places, the other up to 3 decimal places) • Two A3 Four in a Row boards. The 1 star version was originally designed to go with the cards to 2 decimal places, while the more challenging 2 star version was designed for the cards to 3 decimal places. However, both sets of cards would work with either board. It works especially well in A3, however, you could scale down the board to A4 and use the smaller card set supplied. You could have pairs take on other pairs. Each team of two starts with a set of cards (print each set on different coloured card if you don’t have coloured printing that would allow you to print the different coloured cards supplied, then laminate to use again and again). It works well if each team shuffles their cards, puts them in a pile and takes one from the top at a time, which they then put down on the board if there’s a suitable empty box. They aim to get four of their cards in a row. Each box has a stipulation about the numbers that can be placed on it (no tenths, < 1.5, > 0.31, < 0.56, five hundredths etc). To save printing you could split a set between 2 or 3 boards as a single team won’t require all 54 cards. The cards can also be used separately from the game boards for ordering activities. Decimal Numbers to 1 Decimal Place Numeracy Treasure Hunt : An active printable mental maths team game, with differentiation, ideal as a whole class starter or plenary, especially when focusing on addition and subtraction of decimals or place value to tenths / one decimal place. It can be played multiple times in a lesson or across several lessons as groups can use different card sets each time. Teams complete a treasure hunt-type chain of decimals calculations, followed by a ‘Find the Target Number’ mental maths challenge, using a mixture of the four operations. There are 54 double-sided cards, forming sets of 6 cards for 9 teams. A key feature is the chance to involve lower ability students in a fun whole class activity to give them a boost of confidence without it being obvious their calculations are less challenging (3 of the sets are at an easier level). Full instructions included, along with solutions. Complex Sentences Improving Writing KS3

Get students using ambitious vocabulary with this Sensational Sentences creative writing game or set of 40 grammar / vocabulary cards. This activity, which can be used often, will promote outstanding narrative writing and variety in sentence structures in Key Stage 3 (KS3) English (Year 7, 8 and 9 - Y7, Y8, Y9) - or Third Level in Scotland - and will also challenge very capable writers in KS2 Year 5 and 6 - Y5, Y6 (Second Level). PDF format. 40 printable sentence-formation cards Colour and black and white versions Great as a regular morning starter, early finisher task or warm up for writing. An introductory card models ways to add interest and variety to sentences. Encourages building complex and compound sentences, using subordinate clauses etc. Let students write as silly a sentence as they want and relish playing with words to banish boring sentences!   Also available is Super Sentences, featuring less challenging vocabulary, originally designed for Year 5, 6 and 7. With the same layout across the two, a mixture can be used in the same class for differentiation. BUY BOTH PACKS AND SAVE WITH THIS BUNDLE: Complex Sentences Cards BUNDLE   MORE INFO: Designed as a dice game, it can be used in other ways. As individuals, in pairs or in groups, students roll to find out which 3 words they must incorporate into a sentence (Instructions on cards). There are 6 groups of words on each card – openers/connectives, verbs, adjectives, adverbs and 2 groups of nouns. Students place the selected words anywhere in their sentence, as long as it makes sense, recording the sentence on paper or a mini whiteboard. You may wish to allow flexibility (changing verb tense, using the verb as an adjective etc.) To cater for different situations and abilities, change the number of words they roll for, have students team up with a partner or select any words they want from the card. I encourage dictionary use for unfamiliar words and urge students to keep sentences they are especially proud of for use in longer pieces of writing. The activity might spark a whole story! Print on card or paper and laminate for repeated use. With a smaller group, choose the ones you print and/or laminate cards back to back. Alternatively, display cards on the screen for whole class use.   YOU MIGHT LIKE… Improving Sentences Writing Trails Worksheets Editing SPaG Puzzles Worksheets Creative Writing Prompt Cards
