The activities are labelling a diagram of a tsunami and a map to allow students to locate the case study.
A fully planned lesson where students watch a special news report and write down the impacts of the flood under SEEP headings. They then use this information to annotate photographs of the flooding and discuss how the news report made them feel.
As homework or a task for next lesson, students are provided with a variety of poems about floods and asked to discuss them and create an illustration to accompany their chosen poem.

In this lesson, we have an audio clip which students will listen to and describe what they think they can hear and how it makes them feel, we discuss and explain what a tsunami is and what caused the 2004 tsunami, we look at maps to locate the Pacific Ring of Fire and locate our case study and we have a learning pyramid as our plenary activity which offers a few moments of reflection on their learning.
