This fantastic 43-page pack all about landforms is perfect for any landform unit. Your students will have fun learning about different types of landforms. Twelve landforms are included. These are: glacier, volcano, plain, river, plateau, mountain, lake, canyon, hill, desert, valley and island. Included in the pack: Landform posters Twelve landform posters to display, each including a title, description and image. Landform Matching Pairs Game Students match the description card of each landform up with the image card. Describe it! Students describe the landform on their card to a partner but they must not use the three most obvious words on the card in their description! Their partner must work out the correct landform. Landform Multiple Choice Question Cards Students identify the correct landform form the description from a selection of multiple choice answers. Student response sheet and answers included. Landform Research Project Booklet Students research each landform. They include information about the landform, real life examples and color the image of the landform. A front cover to the booklet is also included.

This fantastic pack of science activities is ideal for supporting teaching of the Year 3 Rocks unit in the New National Curriculum 2014. Included are seven activities: -Describe it! Students identify the rocks in the photographs and describe their appearance and texture. -Sort it! Print, laminate and cut up the cards. Students match the rocks (a) to their properties (b) and uses (c). Alternate Uk spelling option included. -Match it! Students sort the images into those that are electrical conductors and those that are electrical insulators -Use it! Students look at the photographs (slate roof tiles, marble archway, granite kitchen surface and writing chalk). They write about why the properties of each particular rock suit the purpose it is being used for in the photograph. -Investigate it! Students plan and carry out an investigation to test rock permeability. -Observe it! Students carry out a simple experiment to separate the materials in clay, loamy and sandy soil. They draw diagrams of their findings. Included are detailed, clear instructions on how to set up the activities. Also included is a KWL (what I know already, what I would like to know and what I learnt) for student to complete prior to and after the unit. Please note: Some of the activities require additional resources. These include samples of different rock types (i.e. chalk, limestone, sandstone, marble, granite and slate), magnifying lenses, clear containers for soil experiment and pipettes. Both UK and US spelling versions of resources are included.
