SAVE THE SNOWMAN is a gamefied revision strategy to be used either in small teams or as a whole class!
It works exactly like battleships. Each team secretly draws their snowmen onto their record sheet and then teams take it in turns to launch firey snowballs at the other teams coordinates! However, to throw a snowball, they must first correctly answer a question, hidden behind the presents! If you’re lucky, there might even be a candy cane hidden behind the present - a free shot! Teams win by ‘melting’ all the other teams snowballs (or by melting the highest proportion of the other teams snowballs by the end of the lesson). The powerpoint is interactive with pre-made hyperlinks, all you have to do is change the questions hidden behind the presents! You can easily increase the difficulty to suit your class ability.

POINTS PURSUIT is a gamified revision strategy that can be integrated with any rewards system of your choosing and is a nice way to increase competition. Questions start off as low demand at the top and then progressively increase in difficulty as students move down the sheet - please note that I have used this activity style with higher ability classes and many students have started at the bottom to gain the most points and then worked their way up the sheet as an effective strategy.

I usually complete a sheet under a visualiser and have students swap sheets and coloured pens then follow along to reduce my marking :)

This style of revision clock can be easily adapted to suit the needs of your class as this is an editable resource. Each segment can be assigned a time frame for your students to answer the questions and complete the clock.
This resource has been designed as a puzzle for students to practice naming compounds and is ideal for a group or individual task.
Print one sheet per A4 page (one sided) and cut out the squares. Shuffle the squares and have students match the sides of the squares until all 15 cards have been used. There is more than one way to complete this puzzle.
High ability students should be able to use all 15 cards.
For lower ability students, remove the 2 end columns indicated on the sheet so that they complete the puzzle with 9 cards. A good extension would then be to challenge students to fill in the missing halves remaining at the ends of the puzzle.

Specifically looking at Decay equations within the topic Atomic Structure (Radiation).
This is a domino style activity where students will make a chain of cards with their answer from the previous card leading directly onto their next question.
Students should have a strong understanding of how alpha and beta decay will affect the atomic number and atomic mass before attempting this activity.
I recommend laminating the cards and storing in ‘packs’ to be reused time and time again
