Primary French: The four seasons

A powerpoint which depicts the four seasons in French. I devised a song for each season which has the same melody as 'Twinkle, twinkle, little star'. Show the children each slide and get them to sing along to the song and you will be amazed as to how the song sticks in their mind. There is also a follow-up game at the end where the children touch the correct tree to gain points according to the season called out. This activity is suitable at primary level, however it can be used as well during the early phases at secondary level. Happy teaching and learning!

French: Stage 3: The Imperfect Tense

Welcome to Stage 3: The Imperfect Tense Well done on mastering Stage 2: The Perfect tense! As I have outlined in all the stages for mastering the tenses in French, I have designed each stage which deals with the necessary tenses and stage 3 is the imperfect tense. I cover a wide range of verbs that I deem necessary in one's learning of the language. Not only have I made a huge bundle which consists of over 50 verbs in the imperfect tense, but the conjugation workbook is also included, which is required from Key stage 3 onwards or whether adults are learning it for the very first time. This bundle will be useful for either teaching the tenses for the first time or revision. Normally I sell each part for £3 each and the workbook for £5, but for £17.50 (which would normally be £29 for all 9 items!), you will have the following: Part 1: Primary irregular -ir verbs: Aller, Avoir, Boire, Croire, Etre, Faire, Ouvrir, Prendre Part 2: Regular -er verbs: Arriver, Entrer, Essayer, Manger, Parler, Partager, Porter, Regarder Part 3: Regular -ir verbs: Bleuir, Choisir, Finir, Grandir, Ralentir, Refroidir, Rougir Part 4: Regular -re verbs: Attendre, Perdre, Rendre, Vendre Part 5: Irregular -re verbs: Dire, Ecrire, Lire, Mettre Part 6: Irregular -ir verbs: Devoir, Pouvoir, Savoir, , Voir, Vouloir Part 7: More irregular -ir verbs and intransitive verbs: Partir, Sortir, Tenir, Venir Part 8: Impersonal verbs and reflexive verbs: Falloir, Pleuvoir, S'agir, Se laver, Se servir de, Se souvenir Stage 3: The imperfect tense workbook Once again, for all 9 items this is incredibly great value which is a big reduction from £29 down to £17.50! Do take advantage of this offer and I wish you very happy teaching and learning!

Stage 5-8: Presentation of impersonal and reflexive verbs in the future tense

Welcome to Stage 5-8 !! The final stage of Stage 5 - The future tense The purpose of this powerpoint is to become deeply acquainted with the formation of tenses and verbs, especially for those who have difficulties in doing so. This is a very good way of introducing the conjugation either when teaching it for the very first time or revision. This is the 40th stage of the learning process and there are 72 stages in the entire process. This is also the final stage of Stage 5 - the future tense. By the end of the 72nd stage, learners will have a developed a very profound mastery of not only forming nine different tenses which range with complexity upon progression, but also, an exhaustive range of different verbs which have been very carefully divided stage by stage. Upon completion of Stage 9-8, the final stage of the process, will immensely prepare students to pursue with their French studies at university level, where they will inevitably be using tenses. It is also suitable for adult learners, again whether they are learning it for the first time or revision. This folder contains the following impersonal verbs and reflexive in the imperfect tense: Falloir Pleuvoir S'agir Se servir de Se laver Se souvenir When showing each slide, there is an audio clip on each new item that you can click on and you will hear my voice which demonstrates the pronunciation of each item, or alternatively, you can lead the pronunciation of each item. It is up to you! The learners will then reiterate the new items every time they see the slide 'This time you try it!' You will be very surprised to see how it will stick in their minds!! I would strongly encourage you to purchase the follow-up activity 'French: Stage 5: The future tense', which enables students to manually complete the drills based on what they have learnt. They are £5. Upon completion of this stage, there are tests also available. Happy teaching and learning and the very best of luck in the tests and see you in Stage 6-1 upon succession!!

Whether you are generally revising the perfect tense with reflexive verbs or teaching it for the first time, here is an activity that will give students a firm acquaintance with this concept or greatly revise it. This activity is suitable from Key Stage 3 onwards. The answers are also available with the activities. There are also some more complex material incorporated in this resource as such as the use of agreements, using a direct object with a reflexive verb and the use of 'se faire'. The teacher's view of this resource is also included. Happy teaching and learning!

There is a more advanced test available titled as 'Stage 3-9a: Higher level test of the imperfect tense'. Try this before attempting the 'Stage 4: The pluperfect tense' activity. 0-31 correct answers: I am sorry but you have failed the test. Please re-try this test before attempting the more advanced test.

French: Stage 3-9: Test on the imperfect tense

Test on the imperfect tense, based on random verbs studied in Stage 3 and also further examines the present and perfect tense. There are thirty questions based on the imperfect tense and also ten supplementary questions on the present and perfect tense. (This is a very good way not to forget tenses previously studied!). Answers are available for this test at a cost of £2. Whatever time limit you set your students to complete this test is totally up to you, but I would recommend 15-20 minutes. I would also recommend obtaining at least 32 correct answers before proceeding onto test 'Stage 3-9a' which is a more comprehensive test.

IGCSE French: Food and Drink (Part 5): At the delicatessen

Students who are studying the IGCSE French course need to know the names of various delicatessen items served at the delicatessen, which gives the students a deeper insight into French cuisine. Before working on this workbook, it would be an idea to buy a variety of different French cheeses and breads for the students to sample, unless they have any specific dietary requirements or allergies. The activities are very well sequenced and they are also tailored to students of IGCSE level which includes listening, reading comprehension and writing in addition to open questioning. For the spot the difference activity, this could be used as an oral activity, assisting the students as necessary. They can write their answers down following the oral element of the activity. This resource contains: 1 workbook 1 transcript for the listening activity 1 sound file for the listening activity Happy teaching and learning!
