Trying to teach the imperfect tense and your learners understanding the concept, can prove to be very challenging.
This activity is designed to facilitate this and make teaching and learning much easier. When going through the initial steps of the recipe, it would be a good idea to do some examples on the board before attempting the method.
Happy teaching and learning!
The cost of this activity is £2.
Welcome to Stage 4-8 !! The final stage of Stage 4 - The pluperfect tense
The purpose of this powerpoint is to become deeply acquainted with the formation of tenses and verbs, especially for those who have difficulties in doing so. This is a very good way of introducing the conjugation either when teaching it for the very first time or revision. This is the 32nd stage of the learning process and there are 72 stages in the entire process. This is also the final stage of Stage 4 - the pluperfect tense. By the end of the 72nd stage, learners will have a developed a very profound mastery of not only forming nine different tenses which range with complexity upon progression, but also, an exhaustive range of different verbs which have been very carefully divided stage by stage. Upon completion of Stage 9-8, the final stage of the process, will immensely prepare students to pursue with their French studies at university level, where they will inevitably be using tenses. It is also suitable for adult learners, again whether they are learning it for the first time or revision.
This folder contains the following impersonal verbs and reflexive in the imperfect tense:
Falloir
Pleuvoir
S'agir
Se servir de
When showing each slide, there is an audio clip on each new item that you can click on and you will hear my voice which demonstrates the pronunciation of each item, or alternatively, you can lead the pronunciation of each item. It is up to you! The learners will then reiterate the new items every time they see the slide 'This time you try it!' You will be very surprised to see how it will stick in their minds!!
I would strongly encourage you to purchase the follow-up activity 'French: Stage 4: The pluperfect tense', which enables students to manually complete the drills based on what they have learnt. They are £5. Upon completion of this stage, there are tests also available.
Happy teaching and learning and the very best of luck in the tests and see you in Stage 5-1 upon succession!!

This activity contains a large number of activities subjecting to a French Christmas. There is also a story in this activity about a little girl named Yvette and the story starts off in 1985 when she is 8 years old. She got a visit from Santa and an elf. The elf asked her to make a wish and her wish was granted by the magical elf which carried her off into the future 32 years later. Her thoughts of all of this, just only being a dream, had more to be desired for. A very overwhelming story but a happy one.
Students can start off the activities by becoming acquainted with the vocabulary by colouring in the pictures and then searching for more complex vocabulary in the story before reading it. While they are reading the story, there are spaces in the story where learners can write in the missing scenes and then draw them. They can be imaginative and creative as much as they like! After reading the story, learners have a choice of differentiated questions. The choice is up to them, which ever level they feel comfortable with.
This activity is geared towards learners whose native tongue is French and also Key-Stage 4 students who are following the standard curriculum as it contains a wide range of verbs in the perfect tense such as transitive and intransitive verbs and reflexive verbs in the perfect tense. There are also examples of the imperfect tense in the story.
The cost of this activity workbook is ₤5.
Happy teaching and learning and have a great Christmas!
This worksheet gives students the opportunity to build up on their vocabulary and also further practise these new words. A very useful tool when developing learners' writing in preparation for the exam. This worksheet is geared towards learners of a weaker ability.
