It is difficult at times to remember the conjugation of the tenses which is why I have designed these activities as means of becoming deeply acquainted with the conjugation. Repetition is the key! There are two tests available which are titled as ‘Partie 1-9: Test au present’ and ‘Partie 1-9a: Test au niveau superieur’. I would recommend taking these tests before commencing ‘Partie 2: Le temps au passe compose’

This activity contains a large number of activities subjecting to a French Christmas. There is also a story in this activity about a little girl named Yvette and the story starts off in 1985 when she is 8 years old. She got a visit from Santa and an elf. The elf asked her to make a wish and her wish was granted by the magical elf which carried her off into the future 32 years later. Her thoughts of all of this, just only being a dream, had more to be desired for. A very overwhelming story but a happy one.
Students can start off the activities by becoming acquainted with the vocabulary by colouring in the pictures and then searching for more complex vocabulary in the story before reading it. While they are reading the story, there are spaces in the story where learners can write in the missing scenes and then draw them. They can be imaginative and creative as much as they like! After reading the story, learners have a choice of differentiated questions. The choice is up to them, which ever level they feel comfortable with.
This activity is geared towards learners whose native tongue is French and also Key-Stage 4 students who are following the standard curriculum as it contains a wide range of verbs in the perfect tense such as transitive and intransitive verbs and reflexive verbs in the perfect tense. There are also examples of the imperfect tense in the story.
The cost of this activity workbook is ₤5.
Happy teaching and learning and have a great Christmas!
Students who are studying the IGCSE French course need to know the names of various delicatessen items served at the delicatessen, which gives the students a deeper insight into French cuisine. Before working on this workbook, it would be an idea to buy a variety of different French cheeses and breads for the students to sample, unless they have any specific dietary requirements or allergies. The activities are very well sequenced and they are also tailored to students of IGCSE level which includes listening, reading comprehension and writing in addition to open questioning. For the spot the difference activity, this could be used as an oral activity, assisting the students as necessary. They can write their answers down following the oral element of the activity.

The subjunctive can be briefly introduced at IGCSE French level as students can be encouraged to implement more complex grammar structures in their writing in order to boost their marks further and is widely used as A-Level. Because the subjunctive can be used in so many different contexts and situations, I have devised its concept into various installments. This bundle includes the first four installments of the subjunctive which are as follows:
Part 1: Regular ‘-er’ verbs and expressions of emotion
Part 2: Regular ‘-ir’ verbs and expressions of obligation and desire
Part 3: Regular ‘-re’ verbs and certain conjunctions
Part 4: Irregular primary verbs ‘aller’, ‘etre’, ‘avoir’ and ‘aller’ with hypothetical expressions
I have developed this resource from having designed my own worksheets from the Cambridge IGCSE textbook (2015 edition) into a workbook. The listening activites follow the whole book from units 1-15 and most of them are differentiated between lower level and higher level activities, however as the book progresses, the less the lower level activites become available as I strongly encourage my students to undertake the same level of work upon entering the second year of the IGCSE programme, as the examinations are going to be at the same level.
Before you purchase this resource, please note that these resources are designed from and follow the Cambridge IGCSE 2015 edition and the NOT the newest 2017 edition.
When buying this resource, please make sure you already have access to the Cambridge IGCSE French listening files 2015 edition, as this resource does not include the listening files and it is against copyright for me to upload them.
Happy teaching and learning!
This game is an excellent way of revising grammar and it is specifically tailored at IGCSE level, however it can also be used to revise grammar at A-Level also.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with this game, basically the class is divided into two teams. If a team gets a question right (on whatever topic) they place their coloured hexagon over the topic and they can pick another question. If they get a question wrong, the other team will have a chance to answer. The first team to get their coloured hexagons in a line either horizontally or diagonally, wins the game!
This pack contains the game board and questions from each topic! Keep an eye out for my resources as I will be soon publishing more differentiated questions for students of a stronger ability!
This resource contains many colouring in pages where students colour in the fruit according to the given colour. Gender agreement is mentioned in this resource but it is not necessary at Key Stage 1 level. There are many subsequent mathematical pages revising numbers after every new number up to 20.
This resource is primarily aimed at Key Stage 1 level, but it can be useful revision at Key Stage 2 level.
