Daily Maths Fact Fluency (EYFS and KS1)

(0)
After finding it difficult to fit in daily maths facts fluency sessions, I have created two A4 sheets which can be printed back to back containing a wide range of maths skills that children (EYFS, Year One and Year Two) would benefit from practising every day. These can be laminated then placed upon the children’s desks as early morning work, daily maths practice, an activity for early finishers or for interventions. Encourages children to practise: Counting in multiples of two, five and ten. Doubling numbers up to 10 using a pictorial representation of ladybirds. Simple addition facts and simple subtraction facts. Number bonds to 10 using tens frame representations. Using a 100 square to find more/less of a given number, half, triple and double. Set these words up around a mirror and the child can read them aloud while looking at themselves! Pack comes with 36 meaningful, descriptive adjectives. Positive affirmation mirror display as a reminder to all children that they are all unique, brave, awesome and so much more! Such a powerful tool in the classroom to help children see the best in themselves and build self esteem. An affirmation is a short phrase that is recited with the purpose of empowering children. For example, children might begin their day by saying “I am smart. I can do hard things. I am accepting.” Repeating such affirmations have notable effects on our minds, even at the youngest of ages. Road Readers

Road Readers

(0)
Eyes on the road! These mini roads encourage children to segment and blend together CVC words! Children can either use their fingers to move along the road, or a little toy car. As they 'drive' past the letters, they say them (segmenting), then when they reach the end of the road, they blend them together to read the full word (blending). These little roads add a bit of fun to practising those early skills necessary to reading! 32 different CVC words included on roads which can be printed to different sized papers depending on how large you would like them. Have fun and happy road reading! - The Teacher Traveller :)

A small format (16 monsters to a page) to use when testing children. Monsters with ‘sound buttons’ included on the words. Have fun! The Teacher Traveller

'Work in progress' Signs

'Work in progress' Signs

(1)
‘Work In Progress’ signs, FREE download! Busy children are often expected to stop what they are enthralled with and return the classroom to a tidy state, whether what they are playing with is completed or not. These ‘Work In Progress’ signs I created for children to put on models or construction that they have not yet completed in order to protect what is being built so that others know not to tidy it away. No more anxiety over “but it’s not finished!” and I convey the message that the ideas and creations of a child are respected and viewed as far more important than the tidiness of the room. The idea is working too well for me to not share it, so here is a link to download copies of the resources I have made, help yourselves. #givechildrenownership #workinprogress #simpleyetsignificant #EYFS #reception #letthembelittle #learningthroughplay #makeitfun #activelearning #theteachertraveller #messylearning #funlearning #earlyyears #teacher #learn #littleones #kindergarten #geraldthetravellinggiraffe #teach #explore #noworksheetsallowed
