This is a great extension after a lesson on the formal written multiplication method. Children have to fill in the missing numbers. Great SATs revision too.

A great introduction to rounding for Year 3 or 4 children and perfect as a revision lesson for Year 5 and 6. I have three challenges - each one slightly harder.

This is a great activity for year 5 or 6 children to revise ordering a mixture of fractions, decimals and percentages.

This sheet comprises of 1 large map of the world so children can see where the Mayans were located. Then it zooms in on the specific area so children can see the different shapes of the key countries. Children use an atlas to locate the countries, label, colour in and make a key.

This is a cut and stick activity where children need to cut out and order the journey of a red blood cell through the circulatory system. I get my Year 6 class to do this after they’ve watched videos and about the circulatory system and acted it out! Note - the sheet is currently in the correct order - you might want to re-order or pre-cut before giving to children.

This is a full unit of work (19 lessons) for English and Guided Reading for a Year 3 class who are exploring the book ‘Stone Age Boy’ by Satoshi Kitamura. All of the slides are prepared on smartnotebook and the unit takes the children through the book using talk for writing strategies. There are lessons on grammar and punctuation, using adjectives, similes and writing descriptions and the lessons build up to the children writing their own version of the story “Bronze Age boy or girl” or “Iron Age boy or girl”.

I have included 3 edited just so stories so they are at the appropriate level and contain objectives for Year 6. This pack contains the smart notebook slides for all 5 lessons. The lessons start by analysing the texts and then move on to them planning and writing their own versions of Just So Stories. A planning pro-forma is included as well.

To help my Year 6 children develop their skills for the new arithmetic SATs paper, I have created a weekly 'operation challenge' sheet. The sheets have 8 questions which most children can finish in around 10 minutes. The questions get harder week by week and contain questions on the four operations, decimals, fractions and percentages. There are 25 sheets in this folder.

Parents were always saying that the didn't know what to do with their Year 2 children to help them with maths. So I made these maths homework sheets that I sent home every week. The sheets cover the whole maths curriculum for Year 2. Each sheet has three levels of challenge and I allowed the children choose to complete 1, 2 or all 3 challenges depending on how confident they felt and how much time they had.

I made this resource for my Year 2 class to prepare them for the arithmetic SATs paper. This 'number challenge' starts with number bonds to 10 and 20 then doubles and halves before working through the times tables. I give children 2 minutes to do as many as they can. Once they have completed the challenge twice with 100% they get to move up to the next challenge.

This is a fun activity for KS2 children when they are learning about the major rivers in the world. They can cut out and mix up the pictures, places and river names and then match them up again.

This activity could be used with year 5 or 6 children to help them learn how to convert between units of measure and to develop their understanding of decimals and multiplying by 10, 100 and 1000.
