I designed this lesson to help students with the planning of their own actions for the independent project. In addition the lesson supports students in being able to develop their own ideas for the questions within paper 2 that ask students to assess their own project. The PowerPoint allows there to be a lot of class discussion and higher order thinking In addition a detailed worksheet is included where students can highlight the positives and negatives of different types of action - very useful for revision. A lesson designed to encourage students to explore what primary and secondary research are and their pros and cons. The lesson fits nicely as an introductory lesson to use when students start to plan and consider their own citizenship actions. There are worksheets and activities embedded onto the PowerPoint slides. It could potentially span two lessons. There are mini plenaries and suggested video clips with questions. The lesson ends on a few short 2 mark exam questions.
