Power and Conflict Revision Workbook

A free student workbook version of my 15 page power and conflict revision booklet. There are spaces underneath all of the key quotations from each poem so that students can write down their ideas about each quotation. The full resource with detailed analysis of key quotations from each poem is available here: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/resource-12886246

Literature revision fantasy football

(0)
A fun end of term spaced learning activity for the end of Year 10 (that could tie in with the Euros) which asks students to select an English literature starting 11. Depending on the combination of texts they have already studied, they might put Scrooge in goal because he doesn’t give anything away or perhaps Lady Macbeth in central midfield because of her ability to dictate play. Students have to justify their positional selections based on their knowledge of the characters. It is a useful activity for promoting conversations between the students about the texts and poems they have studied.

Symbols in literature

Students study the list of 40 common symbols in literature alongside their common meanings. They then move on to complete a multiple choice quiz based on matching the symbols to the meaning. Ideal for introducing KS2 or KS3 students to the power of symbolism to help make their creative writing more sophisticated.

Onomatopoeia Wordlist

Students often use cliched onomatopoeic sounds in their creative writing, so I have created this list to help offer students more choice in their use of onomatopoeia.
