Book Cover Analysis Worksheet This is a form that I use to analyse the covers of books so that Pupils can read before reading.

This is one lesson that I have taken from a whole scheme of lessons. Each poem can be used as an individual lesson, or, if you would like to teach all of the lessons, search for ' Poetry Scheme - 3 Poems - Lesson Miss R' and they should all come up for you to work with. At the end of the unit, there is a reading and writing assessment that involves analysis and creativity too. This lesson introduces Education for Leisure but does not reveal all of the details of the poem.

These Lesson PowerPoints have been adapted from resources that have already been shared by the TES community. These two lessons form part of the Transition Unit that the teachers across Tameside LA are sharing with each other for the benefit of the pupils moving from year 6 to 7.
