Horror Writing Scheme Full lessons & Resources. This scheme of work consists of 8 taught lessons that I have uploaded under the same title as lessons 1-8. All of the resources required for each lesson are uploaded alongside the lesson for ease of finding. These lessons are aimed at C grade writers and are ideal fo year 9 writers too (level 5 and above). Based on Urban Myth inspiration, the scheme goes through the planning stages into completion and writing.

Skelling Lessons I have uploaded a series of lessons on Skelling that are in no particular order as it is 4 years since I taught it and they haven't been particularly well ordered...The lessons lead to a reading assessment on the character of Michael and how he changes. I will also upload the essay plan.

This is one lesson powerpoint in full from the full scheme of work that has been written. Also uploaded is the full scheme of work with the resources as well as one by one lesson Powerpoints for the scheme, that have all been uploaded separately as 'Death penalty Writing Scheme lesson 1' etc, Written in my NQT year, it will need some updating to include APP criteria and AFL, but it appeals to all learners and has been very very popular over the years; a great starting point and it includes many citizenship strands. Enjoy!

This is 1 of 5 lessons that is based on the Apprentice. Pupils analyse texts and the programme in order to come up with their own product and deliver a pitch. The Pitch is assessed as the GCSE group work speaking and listening component. The Real feel of the product is to ensure that they are competent with what they are actually talking about. All lessons are uploaded with the powerpoint and the resources as separate uploads but they are numbered and labelled as above for ease of searching.

Writing to inform This is a full lesson that is part of a humanities curriculum covering History and Geography strands, as well as Literacy. This lesson is ready to teach and can be used as part of the whole unit that I have uploaded, but each is a standalone lesson so can be taught alone. This lesson’s objectives are: To understand how to produce good informative writing & to be able to produce a newspaper article.

This is part of a full scheme of work - all powerpoints and resources have been uploaded. Powerpoints are all separate uploads, saved by lesson numbers 1,2,3 etc. There are 9 lessons in total. Also uploaded as part of this section are resources. All lessons are saved under 'Nobody Has a Private Life'. This scheme is quite old, and will need some adapting as it was written in my PGCE year. However, it's a good starting point and pupils have very much enjoyed it over the years. Also has strong citizenship links!

This worksheet helps pupils to plan what they intend to talk about and how.

These few slides can be added to the start of any lesson to use as a settler for when the pupils come into the room and to incorporate literacy skills into your lesson. This particular exercise is a reading comprehension style – there is a text and, if you print off the questions, pupils can answer them whilst you get the lesson set up. This text is accidents can happen.

This is one of 11 lessons that combine to make a full scheme of work. The lessons are designed for teaching when the pupils first join secondary school and they are based on their early experiences of school. I have uploaded all lessons with the same title above and each has a PP (if I made it) and the resources with it. In the odd case, it will just be a lesson plan.
