Although my specialism is English, I have taught GCSE Citzienship, Language and Lit, Media Studies, Maths & History. I have also taught all of those at Key Stage 3, so there is an eclectic mix here. English Functional Skills Lesson 1 Level 1 and 2 These are lessons that are aimed at NC level 5 /6 / GCSE D/C learners who are trying to get Level 1 / 2 in Functional Skills English. This is a full 1 hour lesson PowerPoint that can be used to introduce students to this poem in the AQA Literature anthology. The LO is: To be able to identify techniques in Charge of The Light Brigade The lesson starts with a matching exercise on techniques and definitions that students can then us to hep them in finding the techniques in the poem and writing about the impact. n.b. This is a f ull lesson Plan with the powerpoint for delivery and all of the resources that are needed. The idea is that pupils use the novel to write a diary entry as if they are Oliver Twist. Once written, this is the follow up lesson for pupils to check and proof fead their work - you can make up your own moves for the Punctuation Kung Fu but the pupils tend to love this interactive way of tackling punctuation!
