Reading Challenge Lesson 4 These are a series of lessons and pps that were designed to support the delivery of the Dfes unit of work on Reading Skills. There are 12 lessons altogether and i have uploaded them all as separate entities as each can be used as a standalone lesson or you can use all 12. The lessons explore different reading skills and they are aimed at year 7 readers - level 4.

This is a full lesson to help pupils studying for the AQA foundation Language paper to improve their technique on the shorter writing task: L.O. To learn steps to success for the writing tasks, in the exam. To be able to use vocabulary effectively.

Again, I have this displayed in my classroom but it's a handy little pp slide to nip into any lessons on writing to remind pupils what they should be doing!

English Lessons Selling Houses Lesson This is one of 9 lessons that have all been uploaded with their resources that use the business of selling houses to analyse writing and create writing. Reading AFs and FS indicators are used. Aimed at level English FS level 1 and 2

For those schools who are still using the optional tests to test pupils throughout key stage 3, these are a seies of lessons that I have uploaded - with the same heading for ease of searching - that cover how to tackle them and how to succeed in both reading and writing. Can easily be adapted to your own context or the lessons can be used for other elements - ie. the generic skills that are covered.

Apprentice Scheme - Analytical Writing - lesson 4 This is one of a series of 6 lessons that are modelled on the Junior Apprentice. Pupils are encouraged to invent their own Ice Cream Product and launch it . They write a pitch for their product which can be assessed - either against FS level 2 criteria in English or NC APP levels. There are 6 lessons altogether - all uploaded separately and then the resources are uploaded as a separate upload together.

Writing Lessons Marriage and Family Lesson This is one of eight lessons on a unit that covers marriage and family and finding a job. The lessons go through whether marriage is relevant and then how to find a job. Part of an adult world Functional skills unit aimed at level 1 and 2 candidates.

Skelling Lessons I have uploaded a series of lessons on Skelling that are in no particular order as it is 4 years since I taught it and they haven't been particularly well ordered...The lessons lead to a reading assessment on the character of Michael and how he changes. I will also upload the essay plan.

Holes SOW Lesson PPs to support text; lesson This is one of a series of lessons that i have uploaded to structure the reading of the text Holes - aimed at year 8, the scheme breaks down the chapters / character and themes and prepares students of literature study. made in my PGCE year, so not great but can be adapted and should provoke ideas for lessons, if nothing else.

This is one of a series of lessons that I have created for my bottom set year 7 SEN class. Some of the pupils are also EAL, so there are French translations for instructions. This one is on short and compuond sentences

Titanic SOW for Level 2/3 pupils(in KS3) lesson This is one full lesson plan with the pp and resources (if I made them) that is part of a full scheme of work that I have uploaded. There are 18 lessons altoghter and they have all been uploaded separately. In some cases, there is only a lesson plan as I've planned it but not made all the PPs. I will add PPs as I create them. Aimed at year 7 who are below level 4 and utilises lots of Kagan practice.

These are a series of tasks that I used to recreate a work scenario for pupils by giving them the memos and asking them to create a product. The other resources help them to market their product.
