AQA New Spec Comparing Poetry Scheme lesson This is one fuly self contained lesson (with resources enclosed) of a scheme of work of 15 lessons that compare the poems Presents From My Aunts with Hurricane Hits England. It's for teaching on the new English specification question on comparing poems from other cultures.

This is one lesson that I have taken from a whole scheme of lessons. Each poem can be used as an individual lesson, or, if you would like to teach all of the lessons, search for ' Poetry Scheme - 3 Poems - Lesson Miss R' and they should all come up for you to work with. At the end of the unit, there is a reading and writing assessment that involves analysis and creativity too. This lesson is a good fun lesson for them, after I've driven them really hard and I get them to make a moviemaker film of the poem, which we upload to Youtube on the school&'s youtube channel.

Writing to persuade - Selling The School lesson. This is one lesson with resources from a scheme of work that I've delivered about informative and persuasive writing. The theme was advterising and selling the school. The lessons obviously have context specific images and detail and you will want to change these for your own delivery but there are a variety of tasks involved that hit all different types of writing and the pupils really like the real life context. This is 1 lesson of 10 that i've uploaded - each as a separate upload with resources attached as all can be taught standalone too.

This is one of several resources that I have uploaded for the teaching of Pre1914 poetry. This is taught to develop pupils comparing skills and would be relevant to the AQA new specification for language and poetry. This particular resource uses the WWTBAM format and it's a whole class quiz on a selection of poems from pre 1914.

Do We Need ICT Writing To Argue Lesson This is one of a series of 8 lessons that have all been uplaoded on the debate of whether or not we really need ICT - The scheme goes through a series of persuasive techniques - using AFOREST - amd culilates in pupils creating their own argumenet for or against the motion. Aimed at Key stage 3 - year 8.

This is one of serveral lessons that i have uploaded from this year 9 scheme. The premise of our year 9 curriculum is that we start to get pupils used to the GCSE controlled assessment model by teaching them the skills that they need to pass Lang and Lit. This scheme covers Media and Non Fiction this lesson can be taught alone or with the others. In this lesson, the pupils have a go at writing their APP assessment.

AQA Lang Controlled Assessment Oliver Twist lsn This is a scheme of work that was used for coursework on the old spec. & it can now be adapted é changed for the teaching of Oliver Twist (pre 1914 prose). This was written to gather info. on how the state treated Oliver but can now be used for either identity or family, depending on the year of entry. All lesson powerpoints have been uploaded as separate lessons with the same heading above, so they can be easily searched for and resources that I have, are uploaded with the lessons too for ease of locating.

Do We Need ICT? Full Lesson PP This is a full lesson PP (and I have uploaded others that can be used in conjunction with it) on the uses of ICT and whether or not we need it in our lives. This one asks pupils to consider what ICT is
