Writing to persuade - Selling The School lesson. This is one lesson with resources from a scheme of work that I've delivered about informative and persuasive writing. The theme was advterising and selling the school. The lessons obviously have context specific images and detail and you will want to change these for your own delivery but there are a variety of tasks involved that hit all different types of writing and the pupils really like the real life context. This is one of several powerpoint lessons that I have uploaded for KS3 pupils that gets them to investigate the use of shock tactics. The lesson is ready to teach with it's resources (if aplicable). Although, you will wish to adapt and differentiate for your own class. They can be taught together to reach an assessment outcome, but all are suitable as standalone exploratory lessons. This lesson gets pupils to analyse the use of shock tactics in the news.

Autobiography Full Lesson for Level 3 /4 writers This is a fully self contained lesson that is part of a scheme of 7 that have all been uploaded separately under the same title. The scheme is aimed at level 3 and 4 writers and goes through the Autobiography henre before teaching pupils how to write an extract for their own. Also uploaded is the same scheme for level 5 writers.

GCSE Media Studies - SAW Trailer Lesson 6 This is a lesson taken from a set of 6. The lessons are all tailored to support analysis of the trailer for the film 'Saw'. The lessons cover the theory behind the use of camera angles, light, words etc. in the trailer. I am uploading all of the other lessons that I have done for this as I create them / find them. Resources will also all be uploaded.

This is one lesson that I have taken from a whole scheme of lessons. Each poem can be used as an individual lesson, or, if you would like to teach all of the lessons, search for ' Poetry Scheme - 3 Poems - Lesson Miss R' and they should all come up for you to work with. At the end of the unit, there is a reading and writing assessment that involves analysis and creativity too. This lesson covers developing a narrative out of one of the poems.

Every now and then, we hold an outstanding showcase in which teachers become the pupils so that they can experience what learning is all about. This is the lesson that I used to teach persuasive techniques. The comments about Gove are obviously not my own but targeted for the audience - in order to explain how important context is in getting pupils to engage with the learning.
