AQA Lang Controlled Assessment Oliver Twist lsn This is a scheme of work that was used for coursework on the old spec. & it can now be adapted é changed for the teaching of Oliver Twist (pre 1914 prose). This was written to gather info. on how the state treated Oliver but can now be used for either identity or family, depending on the year of entry. All lesson powerpoints have been uploaded as separate lessons with the same heading above, so they can be easily searched for and resources that I have, are uploaded with the lessons too for ease of locating.

Manchester Music – Every Day is like Sunday This is one lesson of several lessons that I have uploaded (with resources if applicable) on music – with a particular context of music from Manchester. All of the lessons are PowerPoints that are ready to teach, although you may wish to adopt them for your own context. This full lesson covers writing descriptively.

This worksheet details to pupils that they are to set up their own complaints dept. for TV and gives them a series of tasks to work with.

I'm using this for teaching the AQA controlled assessment writing element for my D/C Borderlie English class - same topic but different lessons. This lesson is the intro - may need tweaking as form legacy spec.

This lesson has Learning objectives of: To be able to empathise with a character and understand why we empathise. To be able to comment on the language used by an author and state why the language is effect.

This lesson utilises the collective memory technique from thinking skills work in gathering info on selling houses.

This is one of several powerpoint lessons that I have uploaded for KS3 pupils that gets them to investigate the use of shock tactics. The lesson is ready to teach with it's resources (if aplicable). Although, you will wish to adapt and differentiate for your own class. They can be taught together to reach an assessment outcome, but all are suitable as standalone exploratory lessons. This lesson introduces shock tactics to pupils so that they know what they are.

Skelling Lessons I have uploaded a series of lessons on Skelling that are in no particular order as it is 4 years since I taught it and they haven't been particularly well ordered...The lessons lead to a reading assessment on the character of Michael and how he changes. I will also upload the essay plan.

Writing Lessons marriage and Family Lesson 4 Writing Lessons Marriage and Family Lesson This is one of eight lessons on a unit that covers marriage and family and finding a job. The lessons go through whether marriage is relevant and then how to find a job. Part of an adult world Functional skills unit aimed at level 1 and 2 candidates.

This is another one of the Roger Hurn lessons. Based on the story of Hook, which has also been uploaded by Roger himself. It's a reading lesson that works on skills of prediction.
